Chinas answer to Americans withdrawing aid to Pakistan

thats a game of carrot and stick..this is wat u ppl wont understand....
even chinese here says that pipeline through pakistan and gwadar etc are key chinese targets..
so its about interst not friendship..

its not friendship keeping interst alive
its interst which are keeping friendship alive

1) Geography does not change - Pakistan and China have been besides each other and traded for thousands of years.
2) In a hostile neighborhood - our national interests converge - both countries value that.
3) Friendship cannot be understood by third parties - it can only be understood by the two friends.

this is wat m saying.

Friendship cannot be understood by third parties - it can only be understood by the two friends.

Always interest binds two or two thousand parties
write these words or quote them.Next few years will be testing time for you..
anyway,i will wait and see..and i expect this from you.

China has done anything or not, how can an Indian pass a judgement statement on that. This right reserves with us. Thank you very much.
Not a word about money....really? Is money the only way to support your partner. China's assistance to Pakistan is a long list which neither the US can compete nor can Indians understand.

I would love to see this list. Half the posters on the forum seem to think th sun shines out of Chinas xxx but every anouncment i see consists of China providing a loan for Chinese companies to build projects in Pakistan.
A straight buissness arangment that benifits China as much if not more than it does Pakistan.

Ok they are a great trading partner and supplier of low cost military equipment but i dont understand the sycophantic attitude. Perhaps ifyou could provide the list of all the things China has given to Pakistan i might understand.

Exactly right.

America can start wars all over the planet, and leave other people to clean it up.

Why? Because they are blessed with a perfect geostrategic location, which means they are safe from any invasion.

China on the other hand, we are permanently connected to these areas, via an actual land border. We have to think more long-term.

Pakistani's and Chinese come from ancient civilizations - where we value friendship and courtesy, no offense but westerners who have traditionally been imperialists - would never understand, because they are exploiters they expect everyone else will be as well.

Apparently that is what they seem to want the most. Since the "aid" never gets to the actual people, it stays in the pockets of politicians.

And if you want a list, go to the Economy subforum, it is filled with such things.

Financial Times - China proposes $15bn Indus dam scheme in Pakistan

Even this one project alone, will help the Pakistani people more than the "aid" money, which only fills the pockets of politicians, or goes to defence contracts.

China is not a rich country, our per capita income is very low. This works out well for us, because the developing world hasn't historically gained much from Western "aid" money (look at Africa). They want to be treated as equals, and given investment rather than aid.

CD bro - these westerners come from nations who have exploited and stolen resources from other countries and they have the temerity to question China - who even in her glorious past - never enslaved other nations - it is hard for the west to realize that China was a great civilization - when the Europeans were living in caves.

I don't understand. Why do we and Chinese people need to answer bharati insecurity about Pakistan-China relationship? Let them believe that our relationship is fake. Let them believe that China works for its own interests. Let them believe what they want to believe. Who seriously cares?

The reason they keep going on about this is because they don't want the relationship to work. So they try to sow misunderstandings and falsehoods. Just ignore these people.

Also. the same goes for the yanks.

10,000MW Pakistan, China friendship

China will help Pakistan generate 10,000 megawatt (MW) through different projects, said Wang Shaofeng, the director general of Three Gorges Project Corporation. The corporation has built the world`s biggest hydropower-complex project `Three Gorges`.

At a briefing to Pakistani reporters visiting China on the invitation of Radio China International on Sunday, Mr Shaofeng said under China-Pakistan collaboration, a number of Chinese experts were working in Pakistan on scores of power projects.

He said solar energy projects had also been initiated in Pakistan by China and a 720MW Kohala project would be completed at the cost of $2 billion. The director said the Kohala project should have been approved in May 2009 by the Economic Coordination Committee but “We were told that due to negative propaganda by the media it got delayed for two years”.

He said the Three Gorges Project now belonged to the world but Pakistan being the close friend of China would be given priority to resolve its energy crisis.

“If the Pak-Chinese friendship does not turn into an economic friendship, I think it is of no good,” said Mr Shaofeng.

He said China was interested in investing Pakistan and a number of agreements had been signed between the two sides.

Sha Xianhua, vice president of the corporation, said China would always encourage investment in Pakistan in projects.

The delegation visited the site of Three Gorges. The project covers 3,800 kilometres on the River Yangtze. Its power generation capacity is 22,500 MW and transmits power to 11 provinces. One of the major purposes of the project was to safe China from floods. The other purposes of the project were to protect environment, agriculture and horticulture sectors.

China don't care about its own people, how can they help Pakistan.
Don't trust Chinese they eat everything. Will not leave anything for Pakistan.

HAHAHAHA indian. Are you forgetting we had more wars against you than China had against you.

The Pakistani-Chinese alliance scares these indians to death.

Our Northern Areas are attached to China. Pakistan has a border with China. U.S. is on the other side of the planet, and has come and left our region plenty of times in the past. China is not going anywhere. Pakistan and China are both Asian countries.

And China is a friend of Pakistan for over 60 years. Our friendship grew after the Sino-Indo 1962 war, and right now our friendship is at its peak and Pakistan should never let go of this friendship if it knows whats good for itself. This suspension of U.S. aid will just make it easier for Pakistani politicians/military to understand that U.S. is not our real friend. The only real reliable powerful friend we have is China.

If I was Hong Lei I'd be shaking my head at reading the headline of this article. Why is it so difficult for Pakistanis to understand what China is trying to tell them?
"China has always provided assistance to Pakistan, helping it improve people's livelihood and realise the sustainable development of its economy and society. China will continue to do so in the future."
There is no specific promise of assistance and absolutely no mention of Chinese military assistance.

In other words, the Chinese will make no effort to make up for "lost" U.S. military assistance. The writers of the story - or at least the headline - got it exactly backwards.

At times like this it is worth remembering that China holds a very large amount of U.S. debt. In a real sense, American aid to Pakistan is Chinese aid to Pakistan, one step removed. That gives China a proportionate say in many U.S. policies. If China really disagreed with America's attitude towards Pakistan it would tell the U.S. privately and America's attitude would change. (More likely, the Chinese are briefed so closely by America that announced U.S. policy toward Pakistan is agreed upon by China beforehand.)

I imagine the Chinese aren't going to be happy with this kind of misrepresentation. (The U.S. public affairs officer in Islamabad has similar problems, from everything I've read.) If that is the case I believe the Chinese won't add to Pakistani embarrassments at this time, but they will probably do something to make their displeasure known and regretted by the reporters and editors responsible.
