The PLAN in 1991, 2001, and 2011,: A pictorial history

There is a typo where it should say 2001 instand of 2011.

actually you posted two 2011s in the first thread.

It really is a big change.

btw do Z-9 actually exists in 1991? It was put in the PLAAF 1991 post but I thought it was much more recent.

I was surprised by that as well, but apparently...

The first Z-9 flew in 1981, and was built in China from components supplied by Aérospatiale. On 16 January 1992, the indigenous variant Z-9B, constructed with 70% Chinese-made parts, flew successfully. The flight test was completed in November, 1992 and the design was finalized a month later. Z-9B production began in 1993 and entered PLA service in 1994. [2]

So either it wasn't mass produced until recent years, or its news has been overshadowed by the like of J-10, JH-7 etc or it's been kept well from prying eyes.

Somebody do one for ground forces.

Not as complete as the PLAAF and PLAN pictures but...

Nice, the PLA equipment from 2011 to 2021 will even be a greater leap.

^ you talking about PLAN carriers? He was referring to the PLA

By the way, how come I do not see the China navy have an equivalent battleship like the USS Iowa BB-61, which has three-barrel heavy turrets?

^^^ You see alot of these in WWII, they were displaced by the aircraft carriers.

Traditional guns can never have the range nor firepower of modern cruise missiles.
