France's Macron says Bangladesh commits to order 10 Airbus aircraft

Once you asked me like an idiot if I have read about Ottoman Dynasty. Now, I ask you did you ever read history of Bengal beyond Class lV level? All these Mir Zafar stuffs are written there to make us happy.

Can you give a reference that Mir Zafar took part in that war and annihilated the troops of the Nawab? He was about 5 km away with his troops. He never took part. Yet, heroicBengal troops lost.

Nawab had 30,000 troops that could not fire a canon in the afternoon because the rain-soaked cannons could not be fired. It was June and the Nawab did not anticipate rain. Very funny leader.

A complete meltdown of a military organization.

Nawab fled leaving his troops behind. The heroic 30,000 Muslim troops lost to a 3300 English and Hindu troops because of disorganization of Bengal troops.

And now Mullahs like you want to fight Indian troops because they are Hindu. So good. But, produce all kinds of weapons including missiles, tanks, rifles, machine guns, and planes before India will fear BD. India produces all these stuffs.

But, do not forget to place them under the Tripols. This time underground because Indian missiles will break every weapon on the land. Planes will be destroyed before they can fly to safety.

Do you have any knowledge of a modern war or the weapons systems?

Mullah guy like you are chest thumping about the greatness of French and Chinese weapons. But, they are Christian and Buddhist. Are not you ashamed that you cannot produce any damn thing?

Don’t make excuses for losing a war. Read many history books instead of talking Ottoman Empire because you just do not know anything about the Turkish nation. How it started suddenly in an area where there was no Turkic population.

Study and answer my question.
You have a serious problem in your upper chamber.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Tuesday alleged that the government is buying 10 Airbus aircraft from France with an aim to get commission.

“It’s very nice thing that the President of France has arrived here…he is our big guest. You (govt) welcomed that guest very well with dance and song,” he said.

Speaking at a programme in front of BNP’s Nayapaltan central office, Fakhrul said the people of the country who are struggling to manage food in the dire situation of the country presumed that something good was happening during the France President’s tour.

“What has happened? It’s said that 10 Airbus aircraft will be procured. Their (govt’s) real goal is to get kickbacks on this Airbus. Do you understand the kickbacks? It means commission,” he said.

The BNP leader said there is no scope to get commission by procuring Boeing. “That is why 10 Airbus planes are being purchased.”

Fakhrul, also a former state minister for civil aviation, said the government is going to procure the Airbus aircraft though it cannot ensure food for people of the country, treatment for them and build hospitals and provide health services. “They (govt) also can’t ensure the people’s right to franchise.”

He also questioned the justification of buying 10 Airbus planes for Biman Bangladesh Airlines when the state-run organisation has collapsed. “Biman also can’t provide any service properly. “They’re purchasing the Airbus aircraft for creating scopes for stealing ( public money).

“They (govt) have probably cut the commission immediately."

Later, the BNP Secretary General inaugurated the three-day leaflet distribution programme taken by Dhaka South city unit BNP for creating public awareness to control the dengue outbreak.

French President Emmanuel Macron arrived here on Sunday evening on a short tour at the invitation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

This was the first visit by any French president to Bangladesh in over last three decades.

President Macron held talks with PM Hasina at the Prime Minister's Office on Monday. He joined a banquet hosted by Hasina in his honour on Sunday.

The two leaders witnessed the signing of a couple of bilateral instruments (agreements/MoUs) to enhance cooperation in different fields including infrastructure and satellite.

According to media reports, Bangladesh committed to procuring 10 A350 aircraft from Airbus.

The GoB is procuring AIRBUS to earn commission and support of France in the election. The GoB is sure that they would not get the US support in the election so desperately looking for new friends in Europe.

USA don’t care about 10 planes you know that right lmao

Oh? Is that why Boeing rushed to hold cry conference after Airbus news?

If USA want to make bd Somalia they will in 3 months.

Ahare!! Mamar barir abdar. Desh er baire arame theke desh re niye eishob shoponoi dekhen? Did Iran-Myanmar become Somalia? No? Then Bangladesh won't either.

Iran has lots of resources. Probably fourth richest country in terms of natural resources. Not to mention they have massive skilled workforce.

Bd is basically a ldc country send garments to west. Of course with sanctions bd will be a Somalia. Hasina can’t deal with any sanctions like of Iran. And Myanmar is already a shit hole but they have the advantage of big country with lots of natural resources and small population and china is all way in for Myanmar. China won’t give that to bd not for free lol and india will save bd and hasina lol?

So ya hasina need to go and she has zero leverage against west. Neither economic nor military.

Most people live outside love bd just not hasina and it’s shit govt.

People (read Leaguers) love to compare BD with Iran and feel overconfident, completely disregarding the natural resources, skills and key strategic location of Iran compared to BD.

But hey, whatever makes them feel good about themselves. Their Supreme Leader Hasina said BD can do it without the West and she can never be wrong.

Iran has a lot of potential.

But it will never be fulfilled because they are in a eternal struggle with Wahhabism.

You cannot eat potential.

Plus their brand of conservative Islam also not conducive to mass industrialisation

The point of this discussion is, Iran's resources and geographic location along with their military clout gives them leverage on the West.

Bangladesh has none of it, hence it is completely foolish to compare Bangladesh with Iran and assume that Bangladesh can survive without the West just like Iran has been doing for the last few decades.

Of course it can.

BEFORE EMBARKING ON THE SOMALI-SATION OF BANGLADESH - USA SHOULD BUILD A FEW MORE TWIN TOWERS AND DIG FEW THOUSANDS GRAVES.

And those who were deemed responsible for the 9/11 are "dead/killed/assassinated."

Of course it can.

A country that shits itself over few thousand dead soldiers - is a wet pussy!!!

But let’s hope Uncle Sam doesn’t cry too much when the body bags pile up.

Vietnam, Afghanistan, Somalia, Iran, Iraq, Libya et al - have taught Uncle Sam some hard lessons.

Biden probably thinks Bangladeshis are pussies - he needs to talk to the Pak military and Biharis 🤣🤣🤣🤣 and BSF ofcourse 🤣🤣

Bangladeshis will be 100 times more brutal than the Taliban 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Anyway, have some self respect!!!!

Bangladesh is not some Islamist country that US can just bomb on a whim!

25 trillion economy and shitting over a 450 billion dollar economy getting close to China.

Bangladesh would like nothing better than to be ignored by USA.

But Biden cannot stop wanking over BD 🤣🤣🤣
Do you even study history?

US literally emerged on world map in a war and fought to colonize more lands in its surroundings while up against the likes of British Empire, Mexican Empire, and Spanish Empire. US defeated these Empires in war and became a world power.

US demonstrated its industrial and kinetic prowess in the two World Wars and created the most destructive weapons in human history.

US created a Military Industrial Complex (MIC) and came up with the Theory of Limited War to fight limited-scale war(s) in other countries. This practice feeds MIC and has continued since the 1950s. But this is not to be taken as a weakness. If (or when) push comes to shove, US will show what it can do in a war.

Vietnam

Vietnamese terrain made it impractical for US to conduct armored thrusts and apply Blitzkrieg in this region. But US bombed and destroyed much of the country - millions of Vietnamese died in the war. US troops defeated Vietcong in Tet Offensive in 1968 and A Shau Valley in 1969 (Operation Apache Snow) but President Johnson showed weakness called for withdrawal of American troops from A Shau Valley.

President Nixon was also an idiot for not taking advantage of Operation Linebacker II - USAF used precision munitions to defeat and degrade Vietcong - a first in human history.

Vietcong was willing to negotiate to find a solution for the war but President Nixon chose to withdraw American troops instead. It took Vietcong 3 years to recover from the blows received in Operation Linebacker II and capture South Vietnam.

American leadership bungled American war effort in Vietnam but Vietnam War was still a horrific experience for Vietnam and its neighbors such as Cambodia and Laos. No country would want to go through this experience.

Afghanistan

US-led forces toppled Afghan Taliban setup in 2001, created an alternative Afghan setup in 2002, and focused on dismantling Al-Qaeda Network. This continued till Afghan Taliban came to their senses and accepted American condition to not allow Al-Qaeda Network to use Afghanistan as a base of operations and plot attacks on American assets. This agreement was reached with support of Pakistan and Qatar in Doha Accords in 2020. President Biden decided to conclude American mission in Afghanistan on this note and scrapped the Intra Afghan Dialogue - entirely his call.

Somalia

US did not fight a war with Somalia. UN was involved in Somalia in limited capacity for humanitarian causes. The Black Hawk incident was in connection to an operation to capture a Somalian warlord but it was poorly planned and executed under UN command.

Somalia is nothing but hot gas that is allowed to be released.

Iran

US did not fight a war with Iran. But USN defeated Iranian Navy in a significant clash in 1988 (Operation Praying Mantis).

Iraq

You kidding? US-led forces destroyed Iraqi armed forces, toppled Saddam regime, and reshaped political landscape of the country.

Iraqi certainly put up a fight with support of Arab volunteers from other countries and were able to kill thousands of American troops but US developed new types of vehicles to prevent casaulties. This was the lesson that US learned - LMAO.

Iraq had created a decent army but Saddam Hussein decided to challenge US on the issue of Kuwait. This shortsighted moron chose to bite more than he could chew.

Libya

You kidding? US-led forces toppled Qaddafi regime and called it a day. But Libya is ruined unfortunately.

More?

US-led forces liberated South Korea while up against the combined might of North Korea, China, and USSR in 1953.

US-led forces defeated Serbia in support of Kosovo in 1999 (Operation Allied Force).

US-led forces defeated ISIL across Iraq and Syria recently (Operation Inherent Resolve). This mission is not officially concluded yet.

Pakistan lost Bangladesh in a civil war. India took advantage of this situation and attacked a smaller Pakistani force in Bangladesh. Pakistan was unable to resupply its troops in Bangladesh.

-----

Bangladeshi can be 100 times more brutal than Afghan Taliban? This is humanly impossible and an extremely arrogant boast.

Afghan Taliban fled to mountains and could find refuge in Pakistan. Where will the mighty Bangladeshi warriors go? India or Burma?

Only a shortsighted moron would want to take his chances with the US. And nobody can tell how US will choose to respond.

----

Yes, one should have self-respect, but one can be realistic as well. No issue.

OP was speaking in certain context. US can collapse a country by waging hybrid war on it. Possible.

Americans are giving attention and importance to Bangladesh - this is an achievement of your country.

Some in Bangladesh might be spooked because a superpower has shown up on the door. Understandable.

What is the latest news?

Hasina is wet? IMF bailout package?

Don't worry. Focus on having productive relations with the US, and do your best.

Be a good boy and not show attitude and arrogance. Allah Almighty dislike this mindset. Allah Almighty can test nations in any manner. Your time has come? Let's see how you manage things.

Unfortunately, overestimating ourselves and looking down on others have become a trait of a lot of Bangladeshis. From cricket to economy to geopolitics, you will see some loud mouth Bangladeshi running their mouth in the internet. A dose of humility will do everyone good.

Unfortunately it will be the poor who will suffer in case of an economic failure not the ones incessantly boasting about anything and everything.

Yes! US can bomb these countries and waste trillions.

Whilst their own population starve and die.

US’ life expectancy is actually falling…

Truth is US has not won a war since 1945.

It’s been humiliated In Vietnam to Afghanistan.

You don’t win wars on points!!!

With China’s rise - US hegemony has ended.

China is now the dominant player in Africa and South America.

Yes! US can bomb these countries and waste trillions.

Whilst their own population starve and die.

US’ life expectancy is actually falling…
US fights a war in following ways:

1) To win

In this case, US will commit a large military force to defeat the enemy and conclude the war on acceptable terms. US demonstrated this capability in the Mexican-American War (1846 - 1848), World War 2 (1939 - 1945), and the Persian Gulf War (1991).

US can literally wipe out a country as well. US would have wiped out Japan in the Pacific War in 1945 but Japanese leadership of the time raised the white flag after watching destruction of Tokyo, Hiroshima, and Nagasaki.

2) To feed its MIC (war profiteering)

In this case, US will commit a small military force in enemy territory to do its bidding but the intent is to prolong the conflict to make it possible for the military contractors to develop arms and sell them. This is called war profiteering. This is apparent in the so-called War On Terror (2001 - ????). US have had the opportunity to develop and test different types of weapons and operational doctrines in a number of countries Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Pakistan, Syria, and Yemen. These experiments are a means to an end. Combat experience provides valuable insight for how to train troops, develop more capable weapons, and come up with battle doctrines that will work when the time comes.

No such thing as US wasting trillions in a war.

American population is starving and dying? A large number of Americans are wealthy and most are able to make ends meet.

Those who are lacking in motivation and into bad lifestyle choices might starve and die of-course. Some are raised in broken homes, which is unfortunate. US does have its share of unproductive people, I am not denying this. But I am not sure if a country can be picture perfect in every matter.

US has incredible achievements and continues to prove naysayers wrong. But naysayers do not seem to get the memo.

It’s been humiliated In Vietnam to Afghanistan.

You don’t win wars on points!!!
It looks like you have not read my post properly. Humiliated is a strong word when US virtually destroyed Vietnam and achieved its core objective in Afghanistan.

A war is fought in pursuit of a political objective. If this objective is met, you have won the war. Rest is statistics and subjective boasting.

With China’s rise - US hegemony has ended.

China is now the dominant player in Africa and South America.
USSR looked very strong in the 1950s. But where it is now? Do you see it?

China and US were hostile to each other after World War 2 but found a way to work together. American investment in China came in droves and other countries followed suit. This is the impact of American soft power. Chinese acquired new skills and managed to developed their own companies in the process. This is how China became a giant.

But China has spooked Americans due to this, this, and this. Chinese economy is slowing down because US is tapping alternative markets to meet its needs. Bangladesh is one of these alternative markets but Bangladesh is slow to reciprocate - your call of course.

WE talk about the Vietnam War but Vietnam is rebuilding its bilateral relationship with the US and welcome American investments. Vietnamese are smarter than many of the boasters out there. Vietnamese have seen destructive war up close and have impressive battlefield achievements but they know better and are focused on nation building.

China and US should ideally find a way to work with each other for the betterment of mankind but... great power can make any side arrogant and eager to exploit others. Your celebration is premature.

Do not underestimate US, focus on how to develop Bangladesh. Be on good terms with all big powers. Keep your distance from Cold War 2.0 or you will get trampled in the process. When elephants fight, careless passersby can get trampled.
