Someone suggested RD-33
Image in Iran
Definitely not Owj or J85 at all

This image is from Iran for sure? any expert here can stimate the power for this engine?

Why iranians does not use more than 1/2 OWJ engines to make powerfull jets, i am ingorant, but all designs are forced to have at maximun 2 enginees??? if you have a technological barrier you must superate this with quantities. You sacrifize authonomy in exchange for power.

HESA's totally new built 3-7400 Kowsar vs Northrop F-5F

The airframe is 6 inches longer
The location of the cockpit is entirely changed and moved a bit forward
The air tunnel is more sleek
The internal architecture is totally changed to house radar, avionics, modern actuators, FBW.
The airframe is bit more heavier.

Some advantage

Single engine & Economic
Air intake under wings and more hardpoint
Thin wing to gain high speed
High cross section flapper for high manuverity
Good idea for multirole but better to protect air defence systems
Axe of belly can carry heavy load

Man controlled Qaher project changed to uav with fiber carbon fuseleg , wings and tail as a Anti ship fighter with high production rate target.

Greetings

Apologies for going off topic, as I am actually referring to your post of Aug 20, 2023.

Do you know what engine the tech is working on below, is.

Does not look like either a GE-85-21A or OWJ to me.

Thanks

P

It doesn't look like RD-33.

You should check what aircraft Iran has in possession and see respective engines for each model of jet they have.

To me it looks like Tumansky series of R-11/13/25 with R-25 being a notch below RD-33.

So likely just indicating capability to maintain and refurbish some components.

What is this one? Same?

They are not the same as very evident by pictures you use.

The one on the top looks like R-11/R-13/R-25 while on the bottom seems to be RD-33 or similar jet engine.

Very weird that you can not see the difference between two images.
I was thinking you were talking about both image because i originally posted the two at once
I am not an expert in jet engines, one user in my original post having the two images was suggesting RD-33 but he was probably alluding to the bottom one, then Piet repost the above image which is what you suggested R-11 etc, confusion from me
