Main players are china and USA. Without china bd can’t develop and without west bd don’t have export market.

Almost all of the posters here are low grade keyboard warriors for Hinduvta, BNP or BAL.

They call each other names and their assertions betray their delusions.

Anyway, there are only TWO powers in the world: USA and China.

Only these two countries have the geopolitical heft to sustain or destroy governments.

BAL would fall like a pack of cards without China.

USA has lost its leverage in Bangladesh and is desperately trying to regain it.

China currently is the ONLY kingmaker in BD.

Chinese communists are shrewd and non emotional.

They like Hasina for her pragmatism. Chinese want BD to have a working relationship with India - because that is profitable for them. And Hasina knows the Chinese red line is arms supply. She cannot procure arms from India.

If pushed Bangladesh WILL dump USA simply because Bangladesh has more to lose by dumping China. Bangladesh enjoys no special trade benefits from USA hence it doesn’t stand to lose much.

It is because the democratic institutions in Bangladesh is very weak or non-existent. So both ruling party and oppositions look to external players to depend to hold on or ascend to power. Bangladesh's politics is such a mess and vengeful that whoever win a election dedicate state power to only one goal, to cling on power and vanquish the opposition. Personal and family enmity between two party dynasty is the main reason, as well as alternate version of history. Awami League is more to blame here. BNP was less experienced and less shrewed in vengeful politics, could not use state mechinary as maticulously as AL to destroy the oppositions when they were in power. Result is that AL in power for 15 years while BNP suffering the consequence. Awami League is a political party at the vanity bag of a lady who has a life long trauma. One can not expect any better from a woman who bear life long trauma leading a country.

This is such a load of bollocks! I just don’t know where to start!

Japan and Korea are just a few countries that are complete vassal states of USA. And are fully democratic.

Democracy got nothing to do with it!!

If you want to prosper you have to align with either USA or China.

Otherwise you will stay poor and in continuous chaos and flux.

India also has limits on freedom. Without Uncle Sam - it will be annihilated by China.
