As indian media is bashing day and night paksitan is sinking in inflation . here are few basic groucery prices in lahore home delivery today . there are diffrence in prices city to city . for example mangoes in multan people give you for free but 1000pkr per kg in GB KASHMIR . apples people will give you for free in GB KASHMIR but 300pkr kg in south pakistan . same can be said vegge and local fruits are cheaper in villages towns and expencive in cities . hyper markets like imtiyaz carrfour have promotions on items too . can indian members put thier input here lets see the difference .

Price comparison on just a few items doesn't give an accurate picture. One has to take all expenses, like rent, fuel, electricity, education, healthcare. By doing that, there is an excellent measure used by economists called Per Capita GDP, adjusted for Purchasing Power Parity. Based on that:

Pakistan had in year 2022, a Per capita GDP, PPP of USD 6,662
India had in 2022, USD 8,293

On an average an Indian is 25% better off. However, this is average and does not account for income inequality. A few people in India may be enormously wealthy skewing the figures. Sadly, one thing for sure: it will worsen in 2023 due to massive devaluation, very high inflation and unemployment brought on by closure of factories etc.,

Palak and Tomato prices don’t look correct. They appear to be too low. Probably calculation error while converting from PKr to INR.

Otherwise, the prices in Paksiatn are comparable to India and in fact lower in quite a few cases. Petrol prices are definitely higher in India. Pakisatni awaam was used to subsidised prices, which is causing the shock for them.

The problem is that, in Paksiatn most of the prices were controlled by the government, which is not the case in India. Here, prices are market controlled and government pitches in, if prices of a commodity increase suddenly.

The subsidy driven prices in Paksiatn have to change to market driven prices.

I am much more pragmatic & skeptical then you imagine, when it comes to any news (Indian or otherwise)/ WhatsApp or social media information. Par firbhi kabhi kabhi toh slip ho hi jati hain.

Have the pakistanis started earning in Indian Rupees ?

If NOT, then how is this thread relevant ?


Assume the average pakistani income is PKR 10,000 per month and Average Indian income is INR 14,000 per month.

Now calculate if the stuff you mentioned is AFFORDABLE to the average pakistani compared to the average Indian.
