Pakistani ICBM

Pakistani scientists and engineers have achieved the ability to build and test an Inter-Continental Ballistic Missile (ICBM).

Capability was achieved, but the powers that be, have decided that for the time being that potential will remain just potential.

Full spectrum deterrence has been achieved against the neighbour to the east, and having a ICBM would invite a unnecessary spotlight on the homeland.

The only way I see that decision being changed is, well let's just leave it at that.

Any credible source bro ? Im listing this since when i was use to wear pamper..

We are already in the spot light through the nukes.
Having a delivery vehicle to deliver them to Tel Aviv or Washington will only keep their folly in check and give us more breathing space.

They only understand the language of strength, like what China and Russia have done to them. When they see you are weak and can't challenge them directly, they will keep exploiting it.

Full spectrum deterrence can only be achieved, if we have potent assured second strike capability with Nuclear Submarines, not with AIPs...

Nothing new here. This has been the case/policy for a very long time.

Perhaps the capability can be used to build a launch vehicle.

Well said, and that's Actually Possible. If they have the ICBM capability it's very easy to use it as SLV.

@Rafi. Many thanks. This is an uplifting thread. I think merely leaving the capability as is would be extremely counterproductive. We could start offering launching services to middle east, China, even Iran, Africa, and Latin America. This would generate revenue and provide a testing ground for our engineers as well.

SLV is a problem because it is basically turning a screw to a ICBM.

Nuclear sub can stay in water for 90 days and has higher maintenance times vs 30-45 days for AIP sub

Prime advantage of nuclear sub remains its speed, range things that are not really needed in indo pak settings..

Any logical person would deem AIPs as a better option
