Just Like in this popular TV show, both lead actor and actress are from Taiwan, I find in almost all Chinese poplar TV series , at least one lead actor is from Taiwan, how come is it for this high percentage of popular entertainers from Taiwan than TV and Movie celebrities from other Chinese provinces?

just as pakistanis in india...

whats your point...

Taiwan entertainment industry is very develop and mature. Even Malaysian entertainers go to Taiwan to further their career.

Probably because they are different and refreshing from the mainstream. It happens everywhere.

Taiwan has been richer longer than China, so it's not out of the ordinary for the entertainment industry there to have developed better skill sets.

Taiwan is part of China and they barely have an entertainment industry now, almost all of them work and live in mainland China. Those Taiwan entertainers also have to openly admit that Taiwan is part of China to be allowed working in mainland China, many of them married mainlanders and settle down in mainland China.

All your acting skills develop when you are young. So if you have a bunch of actors in their 20s, then their training started 10 years or more before they got these roles. So we are talking about a China that was poor a long time ago. Give it 10 years or so, resident Chinese will catch up to their Taiwanese peers.

Taiwan does have an entertainment industry, and it was very popular in the past. So the Taiwanese skills developed in the past have benefited the mainland today.

Nowadays an entertainer comes in a package. A singer must also dance. Must make Musical video. Must have a song writer. Must have promoters to promote to her to the China market. There is also a large Taiwanese community living in US with connection with the latest dance school in LA and US based Taiwanese song writer etc.

Taiwan (and HK) has a mature entertainment industry which first allow celebrities to start a base from there no matter where they are from, and if they are successful they can scale up to mainland China and other markets.

If you look at the top 20 Chinese songs on YouTube, they are dominated by the Taiwanese industry and therefore are more easily accessible by international audiences.

And when it comes to entertainment industry, censorship really limits creativity which Singapore is guilty as well. I've heard before that China has censored some shows which displayed modern supernatural, lewd jokes, rap etc. Singapore also has the tendency to do 'prim and proper' shows which portray the authority in good light and the good guy 'must win'. I've also seen complains from the older conservative female population when there are some lewdness involved. Even our MPs have highlighted the issue of creativity in our entertainment industry before.

I'm not sure whether mainland Chinese hosts can make such jokes.

I think the Chinese entertainment industry is much better than the Taiwan one now, the Chinese shows are much more interesting and diverse. Among the HK, China and Taiwan's entertainment shows, I think the Mainland show is the best, Taiwan is Second and HK ranks the last.

I agree, Taiwan has the best music industry among the China, Taiwan and HK.

Mainland shows are extremely popular in Taiwan now and they are crowding out Japanese and Korean ones.

Mainland dramas have already pushed aside Japanese and Korean ones, as well. HK dramas are now invisible.

I guess Taiwan singers/actors are popular/visible in China because they are forcing themselves into the Mainland market and actually live there.

Mainland actors do not need to travel all the way to Taiwan because home market is enough. Nonetheless, often times, if something is hit Mainland, it will be hit in Taiwan, too, like 小苹果。

It is natural for Taiwan singers/actors are popular when culture, language, tastes, and styles are very much alike and shared as long as they keep pushing to show up on TV shows.

Without Mainland market, Taiwan entertainment industry will contract greatly.

Not only Taiwan singers and actors go for the Mainland market, HK singers and actors do that as well. As I has been observing, the best one will go to the mainland market since they make tons of money there. But sometimes I find it strange why some Chinese would like few of the not-so-well singers from HK, like William Chan 陳偉霆, since he sucks at both singing and acting.

I think China market is big enough for almost anyone to find an audience. This may be one the reasons why almost all Taiwan/HK actors/singers appear successful. The fact is it is difficult not to be successful in Mainland market :D.

A big market also means a big pool of talent, which translates to greater competition. So I wouldn't say that it's easy to be successful there. Who knows that for every successful singer, there are 20 unsuccessful ones?
