What's new

Gen Deepak Kapoor is new Indian Army chief

Have you got any chance to interact with him lately?

Just met him at the Course get together!

Personal relations and policy implementation as dictated by the govt are two different things.

What is the new chief's service history? It's odd that the article dosen't mention that.

He is an Artillery chap like Musharraf!

Gets him more votes...:)
Rambo's cooler than a guy who needs ear plugs because of a big bang :D

Lol, I'm so hoping the gunners don't drop a shell into my room for that.

Gets him more votes...:)

I thought you will never accept the fact that Musharraf got elected by virtue of votes :victory:

Good one... :D But Bull's been a Mush supporter IIRC.

Sir,
Hope he at-least makes it a personal objective to get the 155mm's that IA so badly needs.

Musharraf likes to highlight his "commando" description a lot more though.

No not really...its mostly the press and media that highlights the "commando" aspect of Musharraf...Gen Mirza Aslam Beg was also from the SSG (as was Gen Shamim Alam Khan, CJCSC) but because they were not the President, their being former SFs member never mattered. For some reason his being a Commando is taken to be something out of the normal when its not...there are many in the higher ranks of the Pakistan Army with service in the SSG.

I am sure Musharraf is proud of his service and selection in the SSG..that is indeed an achievement.

'Get him more votes', needn't be as in pastence.

This is the new Indian Army chief!

It is not a stick.

It is a "swagger stick".

A swagger stick is a short stick or riding crop usually carried by a uniformed person as a symbol of authority. A swagger stick is shorter than a staff or cane, and is usually made from rattan or malacca.

In the British Army and other militaries following the Commonwealth traditions, commissioned officers carry swagger sticks when in formal uniform as a symbol of rank.
