Another move of provoking arm race in region: India test-fires supersonic interceptor missile

NEW DELHI: India in another move of provoke arm race in region has experimented to develop its two-tiered ballistic missile defence (BMD) shield, which has been long in the making, by testing a supersonic interceptor missile to destroy an incoming ballistic missile over the Bay of Bengal.

In the past, Pakistan has expressed serious concern many times over building and development of inter-continental ballistic missiles by India. Indian measures would disturb strategic balance in the region.

And something was stopping Pakistan before?
Yes you cannot test advance missiles that are also threat to other nations as well now with BMD test Pakistan can test more advanced missiles. Like China tested Hypersonic warhead after Indian test. If China would have tested before that would have meant it was trying to target USA but Now it can say it is for India.

Death of logic much?
All missile tests are a threat to other nations.

And yes, you can technically test any advanced missile you want the concerned parties will object either way.

Pakistan can definitely test "advanced" missiles, that is if it has any.
Or stick to Nasr, aka the default response.

China can say whatever it wants, it has the standing to do so.
But the fact of the matter is it never did, because they know their capabilities and don't care for what others say.
I never saw an article where China had to give an excuse for testing Wu14 or the DF17.

So if you could have you would have.

You always need a reason to test missiles like Pakistan's reason was always India. Regarding Nasar it has nothing to do with BDM as Nasar is a battle field range missile and India using BDM on Nasar will be a waste of resources. Because it takes atleast 2 to 3 BMD to target one missile and Nasar rocket is Cheaper than any BMD system in the world. Plus Pakistan MIRV and Shaheen 3 system are immune to BMD already yes India will only defend it self from few chosen missiles because India conducted the test on Pritvi 2 rocket which means Indian BMD can only target BM of short range.

This is a defensive missile used to track and target incoming hostile weapons systems. Why do pakistanis need to be concerned about something which isn't offensive!
Good argument but the counter argument will be to maintain balance of Power.

Balance of power is more about the offensive capabilities. All the major powers openly express concerns when their rivals test BM's or CM's but not defensive missiles.

Russians are expressing concerns on Japans purchase of Aegis shore system. Now like India tested this BMD and was tested for short range intercept as it targeted prithvi II that means India is thinking to counter Hataf and Nasar missiles in which case what Pakistan will do is test an advanced variant of Hataf or Nasar or either Pakistan will start producing more tactical nuclear war heads. But to my assessment Nasar is battlefield range missile and can be easily disguised in Multiple launch rockets so there is no major threat of this Indian BMD system.

One may need a reason, one however does not need to justify it to anyone.
And if one could, one would have done so long ago.

For Nasr smaller systems like Iron Dome may suffice.

There is no such thing as immune to anything.
There is boost phase interception for mirvs or basically more interceptors need to be launched per warhead.
Granted ABMs are not perfect enough, however they are catching up way faster than earlier thought.

Also, AAD is not supposed to intercept at high altitudes, that's the job of PDV which also saw success this Feb.
AAD is the last unit of defence if the warhead has gone past the first 2 levels.
