What's new

pictures of the area you are living...

@Burhan Wani Thanks for those stunning pictures of Islamabad. when I first went there and we drove up Dame-e-Koh to that spot where you get to view all of Islamabad below you with the street/grid map model placed in front I was stunned. Awesome. And the temp in IDC was about 35 C but then when we drove to Murree up the mountain in less than 15 minutes and possibly 10 miles the temp dropped to about 15 C and then it went down every mile up we went. It was a remarkable journey along differant ecozones until we could see the Alpine scenery. Remarkable. And then we saw some English era Churches that could have been straight from Kent Downs.

And you are lucky to be living in IDC. Beats any other city in Pakistan.

We care our trees. In my personal lands
It is people like you that is the Pakistan I love. It is people like you who are the backbone of Pakistan. Small villages, small towns, small people but sons and daughters of the soil with a deep connection with your ancestors earth. You never will sell Pakistan because the land is part of your DNA. It is from these little places that the Pakistan Army relies for the jawans that for generations have taken the call to arms. And by the way I love your area. I have been to Rawalakot, Bagh etc

Friendly down to earth people with no pretensions. Much respect !

I did not drive the car but I can tell you my heart was in my mouth. It was scary. When those huge decorated trucks came around the corner and the wheel had to go the edge I was biting my lips. But enjoyed and loved the people. Will never forget. Stayed the night in a PWD motel or guesthouse.

And my heart resonates with what you said about your land and trees. You look at it and you know so many of your generations toiled and worked on that land. Planted orchards, trees etc That is incredibly emotuionally connecting experiance. We just have had our share divided between our siblings and I made it known I am not selling. It's a heritage. Even if it is 10 by 10 feet. It is my connection to the past.
