What's new

Xisha may open to tourists soon

After WWII, the UN awarded Xisha Island to Republic Of China(ROC) and ROC erected a headstone there to mark her sovereignty. I don't know it ended up in the South Vietnam hand, probably the same sneaky tactic occupation the present VN government used in occupying Spratlys, but it doesn't matter. It matter is UN awarded Xisha to ROC in 1946 and marked as such, after 1949 it became PRC's territory as the result of Civil War win.
And if you belive UN awarded Paracel to China then, let's go to International court of justice to talk about it, but why do you keep refusing ??What makes you scared of ??

btw: it just a matter of time for us to take it back , China is so weak and lonely now, don't try to send any tourist on our isl or they will go home in coffin:coffee:

There are 2 reason as to why China doesn't go to the UN on this. First China doesn't want her fate to be decided by a third party and because of the recent past history she firmly believe she should be the one who controls her own destinies. Secondly if she does go to the UN ROC might comes in to join the claim and that will muddle the issue too much even though it'll be brotherly spats.

Your second statement is childish and doesn't deserve a comment.

Taiwan is still the most legitimate country to claim Paracels as its award to Taiwan base on Potsdam declaration.

Because of various reasons PRC didn't keep her eyes on the island, still doesn't matter because the islands are legally hers as far as the UN goes, and South VN occupied them. This occupation was clearly illegal. When PRC found out in 1974 she retook the islands by force. This act was clearly aboveboard and legal. As far as the UN goes, the debate ends here.

Same answer @ EastSea and please debate rationally and intelligently

During World War II, Japan occupied Hoàng Sa and Trường Sa of Vietnam under protectorate of French.
UN didn't given the right to ROC to award Hoang Sa and Truong Sa of Vietnam. In Cairo Statement signed by USA, Britain, China dated on 26/11/1943, only confirmed that Manchu, Taiwan (Formosa) and Penghu returned to the ROC. The statement did not mention about the Islands Hoang Sa and Truong Sa.

In San Francisco Conference 1951 of UN, to discuss about the Peace Treaty to be sign with Japan, Representative of Emperor Bao Dai, the Prime Minister Tran Van Huu has been issued the Declaration is stating that Paracel and Spratly Islands as a territory of Vietnam. Other propose to give it to China was rejected with the proportion of votes is 48/1. That means the UN agrees with the demands of Emperor Bao Dai, Hoàng Sa and Trường Sa still belong to Vietnam. This Treaty was signed with Japan dated 8 September 1951.

China occupied with force Islands of Vietnam after WW II is illegal.

Your are liar.

Potsdam declaration didn't said that, it stated only: Cairo Statement dated on 26/11/1943 will be done, it's related only to Manchu, Taiwan and Pengho islands.

First of all you have to provide a legitimate evidences to back up what you claim. Anyway China never ratified any such treaty. ROC was the country which controlled Xisha after WWII legally.

You can not show legitimate evidences that UN awarded Xisha to ROC in 1946. You are liar.
Every things China did with Islands of Vietnam after WW II is considered as illegal activities of invaders, ROC or CPC.

HAIKOU, May 26 (Xinhua) -- Hainan's meteorological bureau said Saturday it had started issuing weather forecasts for two islands and one reef in the South China Sea.

The bureau in the southern island province said it started forecasts for Yongxing and Huangyan islands as well as Yongshu Reef on May 16.

The South China Sea is a marine thoroughfare with abundant fishery resources and offshore oil and gas resources. It is also a marine meteorological disasters-prone area with frequent typhoons, sea fog, rainstorms and heavy winds.

It is important to improve weather forecasts for the South China Sea to help ensure the safety of the passing vessels and offshore production, said Cai Qinbo, director with the Hainan provincial meteorological station.

Look at the first picture on my post#222, it was a headstone that says "The Navy of ROC reclaims the island of Xisha, date 11/24/1946".

How about some evidences to back up your outrageous claim? So who's a liar?

Now you make another claim on this post. What have you got to back up those islands belong to VN. How do you prove the PRC and ROC are invaders?

Wording in headstone is that "The Navy of ROC reclaims the island of Xisha, date 11/24/1946" (if I can believe on your translation, no modified ), but you stated in your post that: "UN awarded Xisha to ROC in 1946". It's totally different. In fact by San Francisco Conference 1951 of UN, claim to China is rejected.
Shameful for you, liar, like China dont have legitimate evidences to claim Islands of Vietnam.:smokin:
