Would India allow US to use military bases?

US has huge influence across the world. India doesn't have the direct lever with Pakistan to curtail its anti-India activities. India can use US influence to tame Pakistan. Then there are UNSC membership, NSG membership etc.. which are impossible to get unless we have US on our side

It is not in India's nor US interest for enmity with China. China is a growing power and good relations with China are very important for both US and India, but at the same time, India should make sure that China influence doesn't grow too much in our region and US-India relations can act as a hedge against it.

In other for India to gain the permanent UNSC membership, the Big5 all need to agree with the decision. US alone can't guarantor India position in the UNSC membership.

Good job ally with US and dissed the Russian, the all time tested India friend.

because, this is entirely a new front.India retired its last Spy Aircraft 10 years ago.Myanmar was ally to China.in fact,China based majority of its Offensive/Defensive weapons in its Eastern region, close to SCS.USA tried multiple times to crack this Indo-Sino border,as well as Sino-Myanmar border, which has merit for both Spying as well as Espionage missions.but both these 2 countries were main opponent of this plan.India helped USA only for a small period, while Myanmar was non compliance.

before rubbishing any comment and looking down to a member's comment and his country, you better start reading about US attempts to Spy China using this region..

may I remind you,not much is known about these missions, but you don't expect CIA to spill it all.in post 1971,the co-op got paused.if USA got access to our bases, surely they're going to push for Intel missions too.

and its happening.....

Talks on, US, India seek close ties in intelligence-sharing

We don't doubt the US' ability to do anything. Having India or not. Do you realize how powerful the US military actually is?

I know about the Tibetan missions, they largely ended, for obvious reasons.

Wonderful trust America... Russia will be pleased and America is the best of allies... We should know...

and your point is??want to know about our Intel missions?? :welcome:

and I clarified why Indo-China and Sino-Myanmar border may get busy..satisfied??

How much can US and India military alliance can threaten China since China still are nuclear arm nation, last resort everyone life's can by bury under the nuclear waste.

How disappointing.

One of the things I actually admired about India, was their refusal to become an American vassal state.

I thought they were seeking to become an independent power in the world.

Past tense now of course.

Because there is a civilian set up in Pak now .. The US had one base (shamsi- in the baluchistani remote region bordering Afghanistan -- was use for drone strike operations and closed years ago after intense public pressure) .. No govt will offer anyone any bases now.. As for "heavy" US presence that's BS.. Even their CIA station Chiefs Bac a tough time living here ... Several times "somebody" (ehm Intel agencies) reveal their names to media and they have to leave in urgency.. But yes Intel sharing etc between CIA & ISI etc isn't a new thing .. Infact that's pretty common ..(reads Interview with an SSG operator- posted by my brother Irfan Baloch).

I heard they will be basing at least a 1000 specialised troops in that new gigantic embassy that's under construction.

point is, if America wants to do something, they would have already done it at this point. The new techs are powerful enough that they don't need to be in India to do anything they can;t do otherwise.

An agreement to use each others logistical capabilities for mutually beneficial purposes suddenly makes an American vassal. LOL High Chinese IQ at its finest.

You're right, in hindsight such admiration was misplaced.

Looks like they were just waiting for a chance to jump into the American camp.

India have no other choice, India can't dominate the region anyway, why not ride with the US to put China and Russia in check, maybe they finally gain their status as a regional power.

thats wrong.even in the age of Sats,HUMINT as well as SIGINT and Spy Aircraft holds a lot of value.about USA would already did, what are you expecting???USA would simply flew missions of China, fuel riots, dump your economy and disintegrate your country??Spy Game is beyond your intelligence my friend.its a Grey long term game.sometime it's pace gets slow, sometimes it picks up its pace.plus,US follows a perticular pattern, instigate fear about its enemy among its neighbour, then after they get access to enemy's neighbourhood, they smash their enemy in a long, calculated agme.we've seen this pattern for several times.meanwhile, they always remained on top,for nearly 70 long years.

Not a welcome news for Russia, soon India will condemn Russia invaded Ukraine.

Look here Indians you have upset the chinese now. Poor old Chinese dragon, whom I see never missing a chance at taunting Indians is now heart broken because of his new found admiration of India is shattered.
