Pakistan should have at least 100 JF-17 before we start selling any fighters. We should set up manufacturing plants for all parts of JF-17 in Pakistan with licenses. Hopefully the WS-13 engine would be ready and we should also manufacture it in Pakistan.

On a separate note, I wish and hope that Pakistan Aeronautical Complex be renamed as Pakistan Aeronautical Company since personally I don't like that name.

In my opinion PAF should procure 200-250 JF-17s till 2018 as well as try to educate more and more people quickly about the production as well as try to bring supplier group from private sector that will supply the PAC with some 25-40% Airframe components as well as engine when WS-13 got ready and they should beside the induction of JF-17 concentrate on JV in Avionics & weapons suite with foreign partners that can easily make it 4.5 generation aircraft. And they should increase their production on yearly basis as well as on the basis of the orders that they are getting and i would say that PAC should be able to produce much(50-65%) of the airframe as well as engine components on its own as well as private suppliers by 2012 and they should export these jets from Pakistani side and the profit would be 50-50% with China. And the integration of Saab-2000 Erieye and KJ-200/KJ-2000s AEW&Cs is extremely necessary for the JF-17 as well as J-10s & F-16s.

But my question is that How much fleet is PAF planning now like 400-450-500 jets other than trainers like K-8s & L-15s.

Interesting how ppl's oppinions are going towards strategic force multiplier aspect of JF17 thunder and Stealth capabilities

Yes ! JF17 should be made stealthier as soon as possible(if applicable) cuz the present world situation is more complex and unreliable...we should never underestimate any kind of threat in future. In order to live free in this world we should lead in the fighter technologies otherwise whoever is leader in techs will rule us.:woot::cheesy: We cannot accept anybody to rule us.:hitwall:
PAF got its bitter experience in the past and started enhancement in aircraft field. Alhamdolillah "Necessity is the mother of invention" PAF got successful in its goal in the form of JF-17. Now we r facing the 5th generation fighters so obviously we r under constant threat unless we produce the same level fighters at least. Stealth is one factor in 5th generation , we have to consider all the factors in the 5th generation to subdue the present threat.
Alhamdolillah the PAF plans are good and inshallah with special Rehmah from Allah(SBWT) PAF will be able to overcome all kinds of threat in future soon.:coffee:

250 orders for JF-17 is confirmed.

J-10 numbers an range from 36 to 100.
Rest will be 60+ F-16s.

Actual number of FC-20 to acquired is between 36 and 150. Exports will begin as soon as a customer is ready to take delivery and PAF orders is NOT an issue. If that was the case, we would' ve never seen JFT marketed in FIA and soon to be in Zhuhai Airshow. Arrangements are already there to cope up with export demands in both China and Pakistan. Work will be shared in both countries so no worries for over burdening.

i think focus entirely on 200 planes for Pakistan Airforce forget sales

Hey man why PAF is buying L-15, i have heard from members that its due to unavailability of JF-17 Dual seater which is shocking because i wa thinking that PAF might be building aside with JF-17 single ones. But i have pic that's confusing me a lot that might be a CGI:

Hopefully any one could answer me.

For JFT training simulators are developed.
Picture has to be a CG

In my view Pakistan should induct around 100 odd fighters and quickly produce the rest for export. Use the money for R&D into 5th Gen planes or even start other JVs with Turkey or China.

In the next decade I refuse to see how JF17 will be a credible threat to a 5th Gen plane.

if you're referring to FGFA....then pl note that it will be a low observable AC, not a raptor class all aspect stealth fighter.........as you guys argue that good radar will be able to detect JSF....so all PAF will have to do is to get a similar good radar in bird's nose.....and yes one on one thunder will not be a match in current configurations...but you should also keep in mind that thunder will take upgrades after every 100 mark to next production standard.....so you can expect a more respectable match going forward.......conservatively talking if not one on one or even two on one....Thunder will be used to engage LO FGFA by PAF unless absolute necessary because as a strike mission will not encompass 50 to 60 FGFAs.....just 4 , 5 or max 10 PAF can effectively scramble a lot more number of fighters in defensive mode.....so given defensive scenario....thunders will probably engage the escorts (MKIs and MMCRAs) while FC-20s and Falcons will go for FGFAs

Export market is not an issue, but the fact that right now PAF is not sure what exact package they are expecting.

With the rumored French Avionics deal on hold, RD-93 engines issue for export and WS-13 still in testing phase, we are not sure what those 250 planes for PAF it self will be. You can't sell a product to your customer based on that oh we can add this later, we can do this now.

PAF has to show Egypt that JF-17 is ready to roll.

I mean, just imagine if Lockheed told PAF that we are not sure about the F-16 engine but you can have the rest of it.

When Egypt or other air forces are going to buy JF-17 they will be buying the stores with it, like spare parts, which in most case are extra engines, landing gear, all the vital stuff.

These things have to be sorted out soon.

2010 is almost over and we still don't have a confirmation on what future avionics we are looking at on JF-17.

I hope PAF get AESA......
