What do the Taliban want?

So you mean to say that Taliban are just trying to fulfill a constitutional promise? Doesn't it makes them the "good" taliban as they are fighting to uphold what was said by the founding fathers of the nation?
Of course. No wonder why we have so many Taliban supporters in Pakistan!

That's "real" sharia. nothing more, nothing less.

may Pakistanis are overly unedited about sharia because they look at KSA and Iran as the "golden examples" of Sharia.

Oh bhai

if there was no oil in KSA or iran, they both would have been just like what you described.

only oil makes them tad bit shiny

like lipstick on a pig.

Dreams.

Kemal came by at a unique juncture of Turkish history. If he was around today, Turks will treat him very differently.

For ayub? I like the guy

but

Ahmadis were brutallly attacked by Mullah maw-doodi's goons.

Ayub could not hang that SOB mullah.

As they say, do not expect house cats to become tigers just because they are wearing army uniforms.

Sirji .That was a rude criticism.
Is that right?
I dont know whether they behave like that when they were in complete poverty .I mean the earlier decades before of the oil wealth

Your biggest problem is your constitution, you need to change(how?) it and only after that you can really start adressing the Taliban problem.
Then there are the Pakistani politicians using the Taliban for political gain, how do you expect them to be against the Taliban?
This is not a problem you can fix in a minute,it needs time(alot of time),you need to cut off their finances, you need to clean the cities, you need to implement new laws(aiding the Taliban is punished by death),you need to set examples(execute terrorists immediatly,no court nothing just military law) etc.
But since there is not One man who can take absolute power in Pakistan or even a group,i cant see anything happening.
It just saddens me to see what is happening to Pakistan, you are seen as a cake waiting to be devided into pieces, unless you do something about it.
There is nothing we(those who care for you) can do but support(mostly moral support) you in your efforts to exterminate the vermins, pests(Taliban, their supporters, some Maddrasas like Lal Masid, some politicians and others) that are in your country.
Make a start,a real start and not just a couple of dead Taliban(Zarb-e-Azb) to make it look like you(army, government) are doing something.
1) Absolute power(a leader or a group)
2) Change the Constitution
3) military law(strict rules,obey or die)
4) Cut off finances(control the money flow)
5)Execute politicians showing support to Taliban.
6)Give the people hope,economic reforms,bring in investors,use your mineral deposits,create jobs,make it easy to start a business,no bureaucracy.
7)Compulsary education for boys and girls until the age of 16.
This is just a wish,no need to take it seriously.

i guarantee everyone from india, pakistan and the rest of humanity will be lot happier under socialism. :P
Hmmm am not sure.Though this would be slightly off topic but because we 're discussing secularism and Pakistan so i think I wont be going completely tangential with my argument.

Ostensibly socialism aims to wipe out material inequality but it may merely present a new opportunity for sin. Taking control of the property in a state will not make people equal for more than a very short time. And if you 're expecting Plato's kinda socialism where when one felt pain, all would feel pain and move to heal it, then I would say that's an idealistic world. We're human and its very-very human to err.
Let me remind you that a field that is owned by everyone is unlikely to be plowed.

Now why did I support secularism?
Simply because secularism separates state and religion while socialism considers religion in politics, which again would mean that we 're adding fuel to fire.

I support secularism in Pakistan because that's what the founder of Pakistan dreamt it to be.
“Now I think we should keep that in front of us as
our ideal and you will find in course of time Hindus
would cease to be Hindus and Muslims would cease
to be Muslims, not in the religious sense because that
is the personal faith of the individual, but in the
political sense as citizens of the state”.-Jinnah

Right now in Pakistan religion has become became more and more defensive and self-protective, which has stalled the pace of modernization. At the same time India, the behemoth has survived.

Nooohh!
Lol.

The author should know that the Afghan Taliban and the TTP are two separate entities with two separate stated objectives and even when it comes to the TTP there are dozens upon dozens of groups underneath this umbrella movement.

Taking the statements of the Afghan Taliban out of context and applying them onto Pakistan does not even begin to do justice to the question - What does the Uzbekistan Islamic Movement want ? The UIM being the ones we're fighting right now after most Mehsud was killed.

1.Do you know who/what is/are a Taliban? Taliban was created by the Americans after the Soviets were kicked out. They are the govt of Afghan Amirat under Mulla Omar and control most of Afghanistan. They have never stopped their war against the US occupation forces. Now any insurgent or freedom-fighter or even terrorist/dacoit is conveniently dubbed Taliban.

2. So the true Talibans want the occupation forces out. The "Talibans" manufactured by CIA/Zionist media are really cannon fodder in America's so called "war on terror".

no

but I can get you a good deal on that apartment with a nice view if you want... :big_boss: :partay:

It is starting to make sense now....Taliban are far ahead of the rest of the lot....they foresaw the Akhand Bharat coming from the east....so there must be equal opposition.....

Dayem.

Seriously guys, get a break from the internet sometimes.

OP's article is a load of bollocks. The Taliban want the enforcement of the constitution of 1973? Really? By applying what? Article 34 - The slaughter of children? Or Article 17 - The oppression of women and education?

You're kidding right?

Half of them can't read and the other half can't tell their arse from their elbow. This thread is disappointing.

No, US only funded Mujahadeen that helped kicked Soviets out of Afghanistan. Talibans are the miscreation of our ISI in collusion with Saudi Wahhabis to turn Afghanistan into Takfiri terrorist state. Well the plan worked perfectly until 9/11! :D

LOLZ. What an idiot!

Idiots are those who pose queries and then refuse to discuss. Don't make personal attack or you shall be Reported.

Because the moment religion leaves the heavens and enters the earth it can be interpreted, manipulated and abused to fit whatever narrative the individual is trying to project. And what Pakistan did was to give one brand of this interpretation the official "stamp", thus reducing all other narratives as misguided thus in need of elimination or correction. Basically, as the article states, the Taliban are trying to enforce their view of the Sharia that our politicians entered in to the constitution. This whole mess begins and ends with the state becoming a party to sectarian and religious intolerance, the only way to combat terrorism and extremism is to make a distinction between the running of the state and the individuals' religion.

Secular Pakistan is the only solution.

@Norwegian ,mate the truth is that the Taliban is exactly like their maoist counterpart in India. All they want is money.power and fame and nothing else. Both of them are fooling the gullible masses, the only difference being that the Taliban uses religion while the Maoists use the ideology of a sociopath!!They are basically the same in all other aspects. Both of them are ruthless murderers who won't spare even a child just to show their savagery to the entire world. The maoists in our country also used to talk about how they were waging a war against the "oppressive" Govt. of India on behalf of the poor people but they then showed their "true" faces by intentionally derailing and killing around 150 innocent passengers of a Delhi bound train in the middle of a night in cold blood. The same way these taliban scums also showed their "true" barbaric faces when they killed all those innocent children in such a horrendous manner.
So the question of the hour shouldn't be what they want, rather it should be like what we the common people of Pakistan want at this moment! And my personal opinion is that the mood of the common Pakistani people is to eliminate these thugs once and for all:coffee:.
