What caused overpopulation in Pakistan?

Kinda goes against the fundamental concept of consumption and modern economy
Pakistan has a large population yet you see the majority of the country lining up for free flour.

You cant consume if you cant earn. Pakistan has to move towards manufacturing from rent seeking, which is all what DHA has ingrained in every sheeda meedas mind all these years.

Yes and with shrinking farmland, the population growth in Bangladesh is declining.
Bangladeshi birthrate decline is mainly due to strong family planning drives, including education and easy access to birth control measures such as condoms and pills, and general empowerment of women. Nothing to do with farmland.

Solutions:

- Government campaigns to control population growth
- Volunteer vasectomy (free flour)
- Education of women especially in family planning (free flour)
- Role of clergy needs to be curbed
- Conscription of men might help here as someone said. Maybe more exposure.
- Increasing the minimum age of women to get married
- Taxes on 3rd child and subsequent children

Pakistani growth rate has been reducing over the past decade, but it has not gone down fast enough when compared to it's peers.

You do realize that Pakistan was one of Asia's best countries when it had less than 40 million people?
Yes and then it's manufacturing industry was destroyed and everything was nationalized..we use to make cars then now we don't even assemble anything anymore

Just because you sweat in summer doesn't mean anything ice cream makes you sweat
Pretty sure if our population had remained 40m our size of economy today would have been 1/5 of what it is had history taken similar route of events

Population pyramid or slow growth is must for economy
Best way for family planning is development.. people don't get kids when they are rich

Pakistan problems would have been worse today with lower population because of its fundamental issues.

Lack of education no manufacturing nationalization corruption over spending large debt would have been much worse today

That's my take and my example is srilanka that had no growth in population and now they are old and poor population wise

LOL Nordic countries and GCC countries have some of the highest standards of living. You basically want to circulate lots of money.

Do you fundamentally know how that works? It means taking lots of resources- all of them finite- and selling them on the market.

Not to mention how much pollution is produced. India has one of the largest economies and is the poorest country on Earth in terms of sheer number of poor.

Nordic countries and GCC countries have small and sustainable populations thanks to their harsh climates so they all enjoy good standards of living.

Sri Lanka still got the highest standard of living despite how "poor" they are. Circulating more money does not strike balance. Large economies are environmentally destructive and inflate more easily.

OP the answer to your question is lack if birth control and family planning.

Is your device not capable of playing the video? Wonder why Central Asian republics have such small populations despite lack of family planning. Or maybe because their steppe climates do not allow much vegetation to provide calories for population growth.

Wrong. Due to higher population density and less of arable land. The question asks the cause which is excessive food production.

Otherwise Saudi Arabia has the best family planning and women's rights give their tiny population compared to Bangladesh.

Balochistan alone is larger than all of Bangladesh with only about 16% of the population.

Yemen is another example. A relatively poor country but with only around 20 million people evne before the war. It's practically all desert.

Mongolia is larger than all of Pakistan with less people than all of Quetta. Show me all the women's education amongst Mongolia nomads. Their harsh steppe climate makes population growth impossible.

Before the 1980s the population of Bangladesh was more than pakistan but now the situation is the opposite.Bangladesh gave more importance to family planning and the results are in front of everyone.

People on this thread ignore the question: What caused it, not what's not preventing it.
The cause is clearly mentioned in the videos, pics and articles I posted.

Guess those who study epidemiology for living don't know what they are talking about

But for layman.. question is who is going *****/take care of old people in an inverted pyramid?

Those high standard countries got rich before they slowed down..they didn't get rich after they slowed down

@Valar. here are some of the papers I supplied to population institute of Canada https://populationinstitutecanada.ca/pic-resources/population-growth-and-the-food-supply/

Scroll down to see the papers by Russel Hopfenberg. Those were the ones I supplied. I was disappointed they didn't upload anymore but stated they have no more room.

And yes population is an issue for Canada. Only a small portion of Canada is habitable for humans. Not to mention the land is mostly infertile and most of the food supply has to be imported.

There is a growing housing crisis and environmental problems because of overpopulation. Please taste a doze of reality.
