‘We’ll meet you in the sky’: Chinese air force commander challenges US military goal to ‘scare China’

They are a greedy bunch, they don't have the courage to die with China, Their motto is still money.

They got bitten in the Korean War when China was at its weakest. China is now magnitudes times stronger.

The Western powers continue to underestimate China in all areas from military power, economic power, technology capability, pandemic management, Olympics, etc etc etc

Underestimate China at your own peril.

‘We’ll meet you in the sky’: Chinese air force commander challenges US military goal to ‘scare China’

As China flexed its most advanced stealth fighter jets fitted with home-grown engines at the nation’s biggest air show, a Chinese commander responded to an American challenge with an invitation to the US military to meet the PLA “in the sky” .

“I can only say, if they are not scared [by China’s capabilities], let us meet in the sky.”
Cute

USA is on decline they are begging for a war china should not give them one .

also china needs just 10 more years to be equal to USA . why hurry now after long years ?

Remember the 1970s? USA adjusted to The Nixon Shock, bore the brunt of Arab Oil Embargo in the 1973-74 period, and retreated from South East Asia in 1973. These were bad times for USA but it bounced back in the 1990s.

In current times, China have demonstrated substantial growth and its OBOR project is finding traction in some countries. The global order is in the process of readjusting to this new reality. USA have retreated from Afghanistan and took a hit from the COVID-19 pandemic.

But let us not be shortsighted. WE will have much better idea in the 2030s.

Point is that global situations continue to shift over time. It is helpful to come to terms with emerging realities and calculate options accordingly. But never rule out experienced players in the game. They can bounce back in unexpected ways.

This is a topic in itself. They have many economists working for them so they might have a contingency plan. The Nixon Shock was a radical shift from the Bretton Woods economic system in which USD was pegged to gold reserves, to control inflation in the 1970s.

USA still have largest reserves of gold bricks in its vaults (i.e. bullion depository).

There were unpublished calls from within USA to let the chain-of-collapses in the banking system continue unabated in 2008* (mischievous as it may sound) but Obama administration felt otherwise and chose quantitative easing.

One may not know what is the next contingency plan.

*There are some who subscribe to following philosophy: "Hum Tu Dobay Hain Sanam, Tum Ko Bhi Le Dobein Gein."

even if USA have all the gold of planet earth it have 7 trillion$ . what next ?

Id love to see how US gets out of its demographic crisis. Racist whites are being replaced by afro-latinos. Face of America will change from old white racist to a more relaxed friendly latino/african face in the coming decades.

It's not even a question.

US will dominate.

NO. Not so far away from home.

Latino/Africans are not that friendly.

The US is a warrior nation.

It's in its peoples psyche.

Meanwhile China is trying to de feminize its men.

Having fancy new toys isn't enough.

When was the last time China had an armed conflict?

It does not matter. The US only fought against defenseless nations except in the world wars. China is a massive country with very large and powerful military and industries. They may be behind the US militarily but the US has to come thousands of miles to fight them. They will get a beating of their life, I bet you.

North Korea, Vietnam and Iraq were defenseless nations? Let us see.

North Korea had established a professional army in the 1940s and it managed to occupy South Korea in 1950 before American intervention. US-led forces liberated South Korea subsequently.

Vietcong had substantial experience in guerrilla warfare and was heavily armed by both USSR and China through the 1950s and 1960s. Vietcong fought the Imperial Japanese in World War 2, defeated France in a war before American intervention which lasted till 1973, overwhelmed South Vietnam in 1975, and occupied Cambodia in 1978, and China could not oust Vietnam from Cambodia in its attempt subsequently.

Iraq had established a professional army in the 1980s, and it occupied Kuwait in a matter of hours in 1990. GCC requested American intervention to counter Iraq soon after. US-led forces liberated Kuwait subsequently.

Defenseless nation(s) cannot fight a war and occupy another country in the region when situation demands it.
