The US State Department announced that Washington is deeply concerned with the humanitarian situation in Yemen and supports the arrival of food and fuel to the country, including through Houthi-controlled areas.
State Department spokesman Ned Price accused the Houthis of diverting humanitarian aid, and in some cases obstructing it, especially those related to fuel.
The Houthi militia had rejected the solution proposal put forward by the US envoy to Yemen Tim Lenderking, describing it as unacceptable and a conspiracy, as she said, considering that America presented a lesser plan than the UN envoy, Martin Griffiths. The Houthi militia spokesman described America's proposal for a solution in Yemen as a "conspiracy."
On Friday, the US special envoy to Yemen said that a coherent plan for a ceasefire in Yemen is now on the table for the Houthi movement allied with Iran, indicating that he had received all support from the Arab coalition in Yemen, considering that "Saudi support is important and fundamental to our mission in Yemen."
In turn, the Yemeni Foreign Ministry announced that "the Houthi militia accepted the American proposal to escalate its aggression against civilians." She added in a statement that "the Houthi group met the calls of the new US administration to achieve peace and alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people by opening new fronts and escalating its military aggression against civilians in Marib, Taiz and Hodeidah."
She stressed that the Houthis continue to prevent international organizations from accessing the site of the Ethiopian migrant massacre.
They are also trying to mislead the international community by creating a crisis for oil derivatives in the areas under their control.
