What's new

US is no longer a full democracy, EIU warns

Exactly, EUI is a British organisation under the world renowned Economist. Like many other renowned British and western organisations who classify/rank countries globallyaccording to certain parameters which varies according to institutions, the EIU isn't any different.
Anyway, I believe we should be among the "best/fullest" democracies according to EIU. :bunny: Though only Scandinavian countries are the real "fullest democracies" according to EIU :(

Sorry @Taygibay , @Vergennes , @Louiq XIV you and the U.S, S.Korea, Japan etc are all "flawed" democracies:p:
:D
Don't forget #4 New Zealand (where all the US billionaires are now fleeing), #6 Canada, and #6 Ireland

Reading the report I can see that France is classified as "flawed" mainly because of the 6.25 "Political culture" where the UK is given a 8.75
The supposed low "Political culture"in France compare to the top countries in their ranking is hmmm ... let's say ludicrous at best.

So as usual the only thing that is flawed are the analysis of the Economist of France.

Please mike2000 don't ping me next time for something like that because I don't give a shit to anything written by the Economist and associated morons.

You can read their shit report without registration in the cache of google.

Lol it's a joke obviously. :D

It never was
You're right. USA was founded by racist slave owners like George Washington. USA is not and has never been a democracy. Trolls from CIA and English 77 troll brigade will of course try to deny that.

I'ld still rather be in a flawed democracy than in hybrid or authoritarian regimes ....

The Democracy Index is an index compiled by the UK based Economist Intelligence Unit, that measures the state of democracy in 167 countries, of which 166 are sovereign states and 165 are UN member states. The index was first produced for 2006, with updates for 2008, 2010 and the following years since then. The index is based on 60 indicators grouped in five different categories measuring pluralism, civil liberties, and political culture.

The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) is a British business within The Economist Group providing forecasting and advisory services through research and analysis, such as monthly country reports, five-year country economic forecasts, country risk service reports, and industry reports.
The EIU provides country, industry, and management analysis worldwide and incorporates the former Business International Corporation, a UK company acquired by its parent company in 1986. The EIU has several offices across the globe including two offices in China and one in Hong Kong.
The Economist Intelligence Unit also produces regular reports on "liveability" and cost of living of the world's major cities that receive wide coverage in international media. The Economist Intelligence Unit's Quality-of-Life Index is another noted report.

While we're at it, who are rating agencies to rate the creditworthiness of entire countries?

Ah, I see. Is it that you resent Israel being listed even lower down the ladder among the flawed democracies? Or just that you envy the full democracies, which for the most part are European countries?

Mmm, are you calling The Economist a bunch of Eurosnobs?:sarcastic:

Find a democratic arab country.. you have 1 sec...

Yep, but my point was there is an arab democratic country by "Western" standards...

If something does not benefit its people it is not worth..same applies to Trump and US!
Democracy as a whole..is a failed institution..because the majority is always stupid..

At least ppl became the maker of their destiny, so when their state fail, it's because of them while if it's a dictatorship or any shitty regime, well it's obey or die... you have no word on it.... So what do you want to be? the master of your life (good or bad) or the slave under the corrupt & thief?
