Most of the local seem people are acctually locals. .we call them "geçici köy korucusu".... they call themselves as "qoruci" ;p .. meaning like "village guards"..

some photos are taken in northern Iraq. They are therw becouse of recon duties.. or just to buy toilet paper from local bazaars. (Sometimes ak47 and bullets).

There are many stories about ; going there , and gather all the rpgs and iglas from open gun market, after iran-ıraq war.. and after iraq army has collapsed after gulf war..

A lot of soldiers are dressed like PKK, how didn't they shoot each other accidentally sometimes?
Like @Test7 said the units that are in the area are informed about the teams and if there are units which are outside the outpost or a base close to the area of operations they are being ordered to return. Unfortunately there are cases in which due to irresponsible behaviour of soldiers or technical issues they didn't know about the crossing special team and it resulted in friendly casualties among the soldiers and in some cases in very big numbers which I am not sure if they were even shown to the public and in what way. The combination of SOF and a lack of coordination is deadly.

SOF have wireless radios too.

They inform the base of their movements/arrival...

The problem is not in the SOF but the regular troops which are outside their outposts on a patrol or a guard. Now the times changed and also the professionalism and equipment of the soldiers. In the 90s regular conscripts were also put for service in the border areas. When those boys turn off their radios the situation becomes tragedy. While a lot of such situations were present I know for one of them which resulted in casualties with double number xx by participant in the accident. May Allah grant them Jannah and accept their martyrdom.
