Turkish Engine Programs

Cabatlı did you heard anything about the 3.1KN Turbofan Project. It ought to start by the beginning of this year. 10 months passed, i still heard nothing ?

Another thing is about the LAHIKA-A project (1000-1500 shp Gas Turbine Engine Project) which i covered before. Turkish engine thread | Page 18

It has been over 1 year since the project titles have been declared but again we heard nothing till then.


Not yet bro but You know When the project matured a littile bit in the hand of engineers, They will announce it with a fancy ceremony.

TEI will be the excellence center of UAV engines, While Kale to develop more powerfull gas turbine engines for strategic missile and future platforms needing the power of gas turbines...

As far I know the Engine for Anka-S ist a modified foreign supplied Car Engine.
 
Engine industry is a miracle itself.
Most independent engine manufacturers were bought from the market leaders

E.g. MTU manufactures the high-pressure compressor spool for the F404

and now look the products of GKN e.g fan blades and repair, I didn't know that a repair was possible, cause of safety regulations in air.

I believe that there is no country producing 100 % of a turbofan or aircraft.

Indigenous Engines are important from the Point when it goes about Export of Plattforms like ATAK, Altay or T-FX. With indigenous Engines also the Development of a strategic medium Range Bomber becomes possible !
 
Rolls Royce promises that manufacturing plant for aircraft engines in Turkey will be completed 2025,

if Rolls Royce will be integrated in Turkish Airlines and Turkish Indigenous Fighter Project.

Rolls Royce announced that Turkey is their 4. important global target market.

English are smart where everybody tries to sell their products off the shelf. English figured out that we give great importance to ToT and joint production.
 
Please post details about that deal with EGM

It was a tender from EGM and two companies entered it. ASELSAN with SARP and Yüksel Savunma with YAK platforms.

Aselsan won the tender through Price tag and yüksel yavunma was abolished.

Now EGM is totaly unpleased with SARP crap. They say Operator gets blinded by muzzle Flash and footage is constantly shaking. aselsan delivered very chity work with it.

Now EGM ordered new Ejder Yalcin vehicles with new foreign made weapon stations. belgian FN ARROW UKSS.

Our Projects are managed very poorly. Arda Mevlütoglu said in an Hürriyet newspaper interview that our platforms become a Museum of prototypes.

I think this is because of the rapid growth of our defence industry. Too much average engineers who entered work and did an average work Quality on our platforms.

I have heared that Emniyet Genel Müdürlügü was not pleased with Aselsan SARP weapon Station and ordered foreign weapon stations instead.

Because Aselsan SARP electrooptics are placed right below the gun, the Operator has lots of shaking footage and gets blinded from muzzle flashes!

My personal opinion is that there is no non tolerated vibration on SARP. If there is a real issue, it is not difficult the change the mechanical design.
