Turkey to test indigenous engine for main battle tank Altay in April

We do not need to sleep in the same bed, today vehicles such as Rabdan are produced by a joint company with Turkish companies. Or you can take into account vehicles such as Harimau developed for Indonesia. Fnss alone has just delivered more than 200 new 8x8 - 6x6 vehicles to Oman. Tumosan and BMC Power also have engines in this class. So there is a market even just for the projects at hand.
There is definitely a market albeit not as large as other countries markets and Rabdan was a bad purchase on the part of the UAE armed forces considering it can be sanctioned by the Turks. UAE armed forces should have gone for the Wahash 8x8 as it is less likely to be sanctioned by the companies producing vital components.

UAE usually takes its options, so I don't think there will be too many difficulties. Not something to do with this country, resulting in products in Turkey 'is not produced. The Altay is not manufactured in Germany or is not a German tank, but cannot be produced due to their decision. If your industry is not enough, you will suffer all kinds of suffering.

I mean UAE does not have problems with the countries supplying the vital parts, mostly American and Finnish parts. UAE has an active issue with Turkey in the Middle east therefore it is more likely than Turkey would sanction the vehicle as of now compared to other countries.

Which allied countries are pursuing their own military programs? Qatar and Azerbaijan maybe a little but there are none others.

Could used in Maritime sector, industry like generators. Turkey will boost Maritime sector, we are going do more in the sea. From litle ships to big ships, Turkey will need a engine program for all kind of machine.

Well done to Turkey congrats

unlike China, Turkey does not test its weapons in exercises but rather in real war

Chinas weapons always do great in such exercises but never in real life

That is a nice try.
So you are certain that these engines can endure a real war like what happens to indian army at Tank Biathlon where their T-90 tanks failed to even qualify to enter into the semifinal. Their T-90s broke down.

So in your opinion, who will Turkey Army test these tanks against?

The Syrian Kurds with only their RPG or NATO tanks???

No chance these Turkey tanks can be tested against Chinese tanks when these two nations don't shared a common border, I are so far apart and Turkish PM Erdogan supports China.

:sarcastic: :sarcastic: :sarcastic:

It's easy for you to say, after all, it's their young man's life you are talking about.
Btw,thank you for purchasing our "untested" tank and sub.

tellin' ya guys...the mighty (large & powerful engines) & the minnute (tiny little integrated circuits smaller that a finger nail with millions of transistors)...that's where true independence & sovereignty lies. Well done Turkey! :turkey::turkey::turkey::turkey:

I believe we are fairly satisfied with the 🇺🇦 and 🇨🇳 powerpacks? @Dazzler
The AK2 was supposed to use a 1,500 hp powerplant. Depending on its timeframe, there might be room to give the Turkish engine a test against the 6TD-3 and the VT4's engine?

You shall change your avatar since you are so ungrateful. :enjoy: That plane is not deserve to be proud of according to you.

JF-17 and China connection is inseparable. The chief designer is a Chinese, Yang Wei.

This will be an incredibly difficult task. We need a robust and high-performance domestic power pack not only because of the mountainous geography of our country, but also because of the wide variety of threats around us. I hope we will be successful.

There were no political problems, there were certain financial and technical problems. According to recent interviews, the job remained on cost calculations. We may see a collaboration announcement soon, but I don't think the collaboration changed much.

----- Regardless of the subject

UTKU was officially shown again. It is in the 1000 HP class. It could also be a good alternative for the platforms of allied countries in the future.

Utku_Motor_ilk_calistirma.png
8 cylinder, 1000 HP will be suitable for armed vehicle around 30 tons. Main battle tank need 1200-1500HP depends on weight.
Western Tanks have 4 crews, which usually heavier, bigger, 1500 HP is needed.

This engine is not for MBTs anyway. Its main platform is Fırtına 2 NG Howitzer. They can also be considered as secondary platforms for light tank projects at hand.
