A descent AC has miniature nuclear reactors.

Nuclear Reactors are not necessary for an AC. Only Nimitz and Charles De Gualle have Nuclear Propulsion.

It took India 30 years to build a miniature nuclear reactor.

Work Started in 1999. Went Critical in 2003 and the Test completed in 2006. So Basically Seven Years.

Forget, the miniture, nuclear reactor,

Why Forget it?

India has taken 42 years to build Tejas which wont be in service before 2015

If we count the Proposal and planning stage as part of the project, Pakistani SLV Program has been running since 1961 and there is only a Card Board Made SLV (Downloaded from Google Images) shown every year at the Center Stall of the SUPARCO every year and it is not expected to change even in the Next 50 Years!

Tejas: Proposal in 1983
Execution started after Funding in 1993.
First flight: 2001.

For a 4th Generation Fighter Not bad for a Follower who missed the 1st Generation and 3rd Generation of Aircraft Designing and Manufacturing.

, and it has taken 40 years to develop an MBT Arjun which is still not in mass production.

There are only 250 Prototypes.

World doesn't go around according to the technological capabilities of India.

India is Miles Miles ahead of even the Nearest Benchmark for Muslim World in Aeronautical Engineering, Material Sciences, Propulsion Systems, Electronics, Nuclear Systems, Rocketry Technology, Space Launch Systems, Cryogenic Tech, etc, etc, etc.........

yep India sucks and Pakistan is the Shining knight in armor for the world to follow .

Stop explaining mate and agree with them . They will be happy ;)

The only bad factor in Turkey is that it does not face the Ocean directly.

Juan Carlos would be Ok for $1.5 Billion Budget.

Juan carlos price is 460 milll ( wiki ) thats quite cheap we can build 3 or more for 1.5 bill budget .

we would go for our private companies probably

RMK Marine design .

He said Arjun is not mass producing.... He need to brush up his knowledge

Both projects were given serious attention only in 80s

The main reason why IA wanted Arjun was possibility of PA getting M1.

After it became clear that PA will not buy M1, IA lost interest in Arjun.

Work on LCA started only in early 1990s.

Both projects suffered from India's lack of expertise of designing high quality military platforms and sanctions after Pokharan II.

On Topic> Best of luck to Turkey

Truth hurts real bad.

That's so great if it's true...they could help pak also in future in this project congrates bro'z n good luck!

There are only 250 Prototypes.

While criticizing Arjun and stating that it took over 40 years, people cherry pick the fact Arjun was never meant to be a 3rd generation tank but 2nd generation tank based on Vickers MBT. Rather than developing prototypes of 2nd and 2.5 generation India directly jumped to 3rd generation due to delays.

@ontopic

Given Turkey's coastline and proximity to strategic choke points like Suez canal an AC seems logical. This can improve regional security without having to rely on US.

What you talking about lol?

Ignore him.

Feeding his types will only ruin the thread.

IMO Turkish Navy is good enough in its current configuration. You're the most powerful country in the Mediterranean Sea which is what matters most in your location. An aircraft carrier means CBGs support, buying the right carrier based jet and a hell load of expenses for a country like you who doesn't have any serious threats or enemies in your neighborhood.

Although LPDs and LHDs would be fine additions to your navy.

Bizzare Logic!

Er......Wouldn' t the ability to develop a miniature nuclear reactor depend upon the respective nation's experience in building nuclear reactors on its own rather than comparison of another nation's MBT or LCA program

No, comparison has been made, except stating truth about India's real technological potential.
