The Role of Pakistan Army in National Development

Since when you have joined the circus and filled the clown vacancy and showing absence of morals? We have heard all of our lives development, no wonder we have left with polishing of the begging bowl.
We have got sick generals who are screwing Islamic Republic of Pakistan from the last 75 years and people like you are playing Milli Nagmas to play with the foolish Pakistani's folks emotions.
Army sole job is to defend our national borders nothing more and nothing less.
All so called army sacrifices are by the soldiers and junior officers and not by these foreign generals of our army who after retirement run off abroad to live lavishly with the stolen money from the country like Nawaz . When these kids join army they must know they are joining army for a reason of defending the country and if in this process they lose their lives they are compensated like rest of the world armies.
Armies don't go out and takes over the parliament and the capital and stuff the ballot boxes and brings down the governments like Pakistan army have done. Who have given, assigned and hired them for the development of the Pakistan answer is NO ONE, so stop spreading all these lies of development.
Yes we and majority of the Pakistani's are waking up to the reality of the army lies, deception, loot of the country and the political engineering by them and want them to be taken to the courts and hanged in the public or are shoot from the trees like monkeys.
Unleashing ISI thugs and raiding Pakistani citizens houses and stealing their property and forced disappearances is a criminal offence through out the world but its a medal of honour for our pathetic army generals. Looking at the Imran Riaz and Arshad Sharif treatment by this criminal army and ISI will force the common man to pick up the arms and hunt these clowns from their golden DHA houses and give them the natural poetic justice which they deserve and stuff the development inside their backside.
Sick army and talk of the monkey development.
Army’s job has become much more since a long time with the corrupt inept civil govt and civil departments. I’m glad that Army is handling affairs of Pakistan since that’s keeping Pakistan from breaking apart amid bad decisions.

Nooooooooo the army job is to protect the borders nothing less nothing more and that's what they are hired for and that's their oath and job description says after that its subversion, treason and going beyond their pay packet and punishable by the firing squad.
There are nearly 200 counties in the world and they do have got armies too, none of their armies are occupying their capitals and busy manipulating political system, destroying businesses, torturing, kidnapping, making **** and killing of there own citizens.
For your information it was the Pakistan army pathetic, alcoholic womanising general Yahya was in power when we lost the Eastern wing and as chief executive of the country he is solely responsible for the break up. While the war was going on and he was offering general Rani to other men cos his tool was unsatisfactory for the Rani. We have got a occupying sick army generals and their cure is plain and simple frog march them to the courts and firing squad treatment afterwards.
Conveniently enough the same army took us to the 1965 war while not fully prepared and to the Kargil war where they got their arses kicked even while occupying heights, and then they were so loyal to their soldiers were not accepting their bodies. What a disgraceful generals who used the poor soldiers for their bravado and and then abandoned the fallen ones and then your enemy have to beg you to be civilized and give them the honourable burial. We have lost the Siachen under another so called iron man and another whisky lover took us to the war on terror where army ended up with all the dollars and poor 80000 civilians lost their lives while bombed or droned. List is endless of these foreign brown skinned lady boy generals who are occupying our lands of their stupidities and how they are laughed at by in the western quarters.
Who are the civil departments current heads and have not ran most departments in the past again same retired useless pathetic generals that's why those departments are miserably failing. Even universities vice chancellors to the utilities heads are and were again retired useless generals at one given time or the other.
Advise is go back to the barracks and lets have the peace in the country and prosperity will follow if educated politicians are allowed to participate without their scheming's and brain storming's as you can't storm India for the fear of getting the bloody nose. These generals are embarrassment to the country and damaging our country by their embezzlements no wonder all 4 former chief of staffs are hiding abroad with the looted stash.

Army is in barracks but will run the Show through ISI and other cadres.

The bureaucracy was destroyed when Zia killed the merit and installed hand picked retired generals on key post. Everyone should check the pages of history. Zia is the man who destroyed Pakistan and Ayub Khan destroyed the democracy of this country.

There's a few very good videos on YT which describe the founding of FWO and NLC and everything, and how the departmental politics and Army ki chaudhrahat showed its colors.

Yeah just like in 71.
Pata nahi kis dunyah main rehta ho.

Enough of begaret generals.

Read post 81 in angry mob thread.

I don’t have time to be spent at PDF all day.

Call them FA pass to soothe your bum burns but infact they are not. And army will forever play a role in development of Pakistan whether you want it or not.

One of the key points is that the upper echelon of Govt are alright with the notion of Army handling things as long as they themselves are in power. PTI is also an example - hypocritical IK knew everything but kept quiet since he was in power. He only started whinging like an Ex Gf of Bajwa wheh he was removed from power. So if the all time “honest” IK can stay mute then the other jokers would certainly be 10 steps ahead.

Public has no say.

Army, bureaucracy, judiciary, banks etc are the ones making decisions. That’s how it is and will be.

Pakistan Fauj Generals murdabad!

Blame Army lol

Pakistan Army, like its glorious past, will aptly continue working towards nation-building, playing a multifaceted role in the nation's development, extending beyond its traditional military functions. This will not only help the government of the day in fulfilling its duties, but also facilitate the welfare of the veterans and the families of the martyrs.

Since its inception, Pakistan Army has been at the forefront of national development. From being an essential player in infrastructure development to generating much-needed revenue for the country, Pakistan Army has played many roles beyond the traditional call of duty. Its subsidiary organizations have effectively supplemented the functioning of the government in the crucial fields of health and education, in addition to several other socioeconomic projects aimed at uplifting the living standards of the people. Besides, such nation-building activities also generated much-needed jobs in the country–particularly for the veterans and the wards/families of the martyrs.

In this context, Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), General Syed Asim Munir's decision to focus on agriculture, mining, and the IT sector as a future driver of the country's economy takes center stage. First, immense focus on the agricultural sector is premised on the fact that agriculture contributes approximately 24 percent to the country's Gross Domestic Product (GDP)–while employing more than 40 percent of the workforce. Revolutionizing this particular sector would go a long way in contributing to the economic well-being of cash-strapped Pakistan and decreasing the country's skyrocketing unemployment statistics. Furthermore, improving the efficiency of this sector will also play a crucial role in safeguarding the country’s food security frontiers.

It is irrefutable that with every passing day, the population of this country is increasing manifold, which is expected to reach 400 million by 2050. However, the already-scarce resources are decreasing per capita, creating a scenario where there can be a genuine threat to the country's food security, which may lead to widespread social disturbances. Therefore, to counter this threat, it would be highly pertinent that specific unorthodox and unconventional steps are immediately taken to mitigate the future challenges vis-à-vis food security. Such a scenario makes an ideal pitch for Pakistan Army's entrance into the field to revolutionize the old and redundant ways of agriculture. Pakistan Army’s decision to partake in corporate farming should be seen in this light.

Land Information and Management System (LIMS) is a tool that will comprehensively modernize and revolutionize the country's agriculture sector.
Second, Pakistan Army's focus on developing the country's mineral resources is a step in the right direction. Even the conservative estimates from world-renowned companies indicate the mineral potential in hundreds of billions of dollars. Although the mineral industry is highly complex due to its physical characteristics, heterogeneity, uncertain occurrences, and processing requirements, well-intentioned and focused efforts in the field can pay dividends that have the potential to change the country's outlook for decades to come. This laser-like focus on developing the mineral sector not only has the potential to uplift the backward areas of the Balochistan province, but also has the added advantage of earning much-needed foreign exchange for the country.

Lastly, today's ever-changing times, due to the advent of new technologies and changing work patterns post-COVID, have put the IT sector into the limelight. Businesses and the private sector are taking steps to cut their costs to ensure market competitiveness. As a result, most of the first-world countries are gradually outsourcing the IT services aspect of their businesses to countries like Pakistan, India, and Bangladesh, etc. Therefore, there is a growing demand for IT services, and the market for freelancing is witnessing a mushrooming growth. Such a scenario is ideal for the country to benefit from it to bring in millions, if not billions, of dollars’ worth of business. In Pakistan, the IT sector in general and the freelancing market in particular, is booming, with many youngsters working effectively from their homes. Pakistan Army's attention towards this sector will bring new reforms in the field and legitimize much of the IT sector's undocumented economy. Moreover, the subsequent establishment of IT parks and Special Economic Zones–coupled with tax breaks, tax-write-offs, and tax immunities–would catalyze this sector's mushroom growth. Consequently, the country's youth bulge, with comprehensive IT literacy, will be effectively employed, helping it earn much-needed cash inflows/foreign exchange.

Pakistan Army, like its glorious past, will aptly continue working towards nation-building, playing a multifaceted role in the nation’s development, extending beyond its traditional military functions. Apart from safeguarding this great nation's territorial and ideological frontiers, the Army will also perform much-needed tasks to help catalyze national development. This will not only help the government of the day in fulfilling its duties, but also facilitate the welfare of the veterans and the families of the martyrs. Here, it is essential to note that the sacrifices of the Army's rank and file in the war against terrorism in recent history have left a considerable debt that needs to be repaid in kind. We need to protect, safeguard, rehabilitate, and support the families of those who made the ultimate sacrifice to protect this homeland. The current military leadership understands this sentiment and has taken practical steps in pursuance of this sentiment.

Role of Pakistan Army:
- murder of Jinnah
- murder of Liaqat Ali
- Murder of Benazir
- Murder of Z.A. Bhutto
- Loss of Bangladesh
- Proxy fighting (U.S. Mercenary warrior) in Afghanistan
- Bringing and promoting terrorism in Pakistan
- using Terror groups as their proxies to undermine political system in Pakistan.
- using terror groups to leverage their importance in security of Pakistan
- loosing 10's of thousands of foot soldiers in their self managed War on Terror while only killing and capturing few dozen terrorists (no one kills and captures their own)
- Humiliating Pakistan in Kargil
- Army's actions causing Pakistan labelled as terrorist state.
- Destroying every fabric of a modern civilized society, police, judiciary, bureaucracy.
- Destroying educational curriculum and bringing a generation of jehadi children.
- setting up 10's of thousands of Jihadi mudrassas throughout Pakistan.
- Killing millions of Pashtuns for their outside masters.
- imprisoning, torturing and killing patriotic journalists and political workers
- Humiliating, insulting and even raping woman, in Bangladesh and now in "what is left of it" Pakistan.
- heck even raping the country.
- Destroying a whole fcuking country for their personal gains and properties outside the country.

name one motherchod general whose kids are in Pakistan!!

@Signalian how much more proof do you need to see the army has lost every bit of respect. the longer it continues to meddle in politics, economy, agriculture without any mandate, the longer it will only dig itself into a grave.
we dont want the army to do anything more than defense.
can they please concentrate on defending pakistan from TTP, BLA, India and so much fasad of bombings? let them do their actual jobs for which they are supposed to be soooo competent.

Even the actual "progress" is debatable. Musharraf leveraged the US aid to prop up the PKR, which helped generate GDP growth, but through the consumption of imported items. Ishaq Dar pretty much implemented the same economic model -- but on loans instead of aid. Either way, both of their policies gutted our incentives structure to produce and export; instead, we became consumers who needed handouts, and when that wasn't forthcoming, we lived up the lifestyle on credit without any real income.
That is, quite wrong. Musharraf did well because he had good economic managers, not Shaukat Aziz, but Razak Dawood at commerce and Ishrat Hussain at State Bank (two positions which are far more important than finance long term). Who both later served IK.
Musharraf's era saw a great expansion of the services sector. But that was not because of "US aid", it was due to the simultaneous massive rise of the middle class, which also led to much greater consumerism.
Whole industries started in that era which never existed before, the entire tech industry for one, but also in manufacturing, for example for consumer goods and appliances (which earlier had been imported). US aid played an essentially irrelevant role in it.

On the issue of "produce and export", you have got that backward. Manufacturing has grown significantly in absolute numbers since 2000, its become a smaller (or a stagnant) part of GDP as the services sector has ballooned. One of the issues for exporters has been its become more lucrative to sell domestically where there is ever increasing demand then export and earn foreign exchange (since most proceeds have to be surrendered the State bank in return for PKR it doesn't matter to them).

Despite common belief most of our imports are stuff like fuel oil, pharma products. and machinery. Not luxury stuff.
Despite the tropes and memes.
