The only realistic way to tackle terrorism in Pakistan is to cut off their root/supply chain which are the Madrasas. These places are a breathing ground for extremist ideology and unless we tackle this problem first and foremost the situation in country will only get worse. I personally have two very close relatives who have gone through this system and let me tell you if these so called religious schools are not dealt with soon there will be millions of ticking time bombs with ideologies that make you wonder what religious scripture they are following will be roaming the streets and the security situation in the country will continue to deteriorate.

For every terrorist that is killed there are 10 more which are produced by some of these so called schools. If our military continues to allow this to go on and pursue the same failed regional policy of 80s and mid 90s soon KPK will not be the only region where the army will be fighting these terrorists, this problem will spread throughout the country if we continue to sit back and allow the brainwashing of kids to continue in the pretext of Madrasas.

what is the rough estimates of number of madrassas.. how many students study there.

1st improve the bloody justice system and then shut up those stupid reporter sympathizers....

then think of doing anything further coz no matter what you put forward either the legal system - judges and lawyers will free em or the some insider will be helping them...Clean that first!

Then put a strict ban on reporters crying human rights for people who wanna blow up our people!

It is wise to give capital punishment to such people caught either doing or supporting coz both are hindrance to our safety and a threat to national security!

Once this msg is out and some 2000 people slaughtered (hopefully no misuse of law) when this doesnt work then you may close ALL them madarassah many of which are feeding the needy the govt cant handle and increase our poverty and other indices exponentially!

Instead of this I would suggest closing any extreme ones and monitoring the rest!

Pak govt should strictly control what they can and can not teach in the madrasas, and all wahhabi material should be outlawed.
We have deobandis who follow Dar ul Alum Deoband involved in terrorism, not Wahhabis.

Have you closed down Dar ul Alum Deoband in India? They are very loyal to India I guess.

They do not come from madrassahs either:D

Your ignorance about the issue is of epic proportions those who did Safoora never went to Madrassah and also 9/11 and many others.

@M.SAAD
Madrassahs provide free education, food and meals to the children who usually belong to poor families, only a few madrassahs like madrassahs run by Mullah Abdul Aziz need to be closed. Not all madrassahs are involved in terrorism and many madrassahs provide a good future free of cost to poor families whose children would be child laborers otherwise.

Not going to happen...they have become too strong and for a country like Pakistan where the govt. fails to deliver a basic necessity like education to its population people will send their children to these madressahs.

@Imran Khan bhai i remember going through an old thread where you posted a list of taliban commanders with their affiliated madressahs....do you have it now ??

Guess what happens when you close down Madrassas? These Madrassah students will either be uneducated or join TTP and it will be a great source of propaganda for their cause.

Also plenty of Madrassas teach education along with Islamic education and these will help them later. Not everyone will become an engineer or doctor (although madrassah students do become them sometimes) or have intellectual capability to do so. Also, you are gonna need labour for driving busses, cars, trains, working at factories, mills and for such very little education is required.

Also a lot of foreign funds are donated to Madrassas and closing them would mean that the government will need to increase its education budget thus hampering the national budget and economy.

The best thing would be to monitor Madrassas and make sure they don't go and glorify suicide bombings, killings in the name of Jihad. And if they do, don't close them, take them over government control and arrest the ones who try to spread terrorism.

Exactly, some of top Al-Qaeda leaders never went to Madrassa and hold university degrees.

People do not think what will happen after they close down madrassahs. You have to think about after effects of your thought before you put your thought to action.

Many engineers and doctors are also TTP and AQ members who have never visited any madrassah.

People who create threads like these, they are just kids trying to play decision makers.

Yes, even look at all of ISIS' members from Europe, none of them are from Madrassahs but many had enjoyed Western lifestyles before joining ISIS.
