Tezgam train inferno - Death Toll rises to 73

Such iteme are not allowed in.
There are thousand ways to take the banned items with you. The size of railway and its stations, and the open areas around them all over the country are so huge that passengers don't even have to go to a station to enter a train.. They can walk around the stations and travel for free..

A strict checking at railway stations is not possible and even if there's strict checking, people will circumvent it. Airports are a different story.. There are a few airports in major cities and building a security perimeter around the airports is still easy. Passengers can only enter the plane from assigned gates.. You can't copy these controls on railway stations. On top of that, trains stop sometimes in the middle of no where because they have to give way to other trains.. people know about these spots and they enter the trains from there.. Plus, there illegal buildings/ houses built throughout the railway lines all over Pakistan. Trains move slow in those areas.. so slow that I have seen people entering trains from these areas...

Fixing all of this requires enormous amount of money.. but educating people and raising awareness doesn't. And there's no guarantee that people will not find a way to avoid the checks and controls.

A good example is that, a company enforces a strong password policy on its system that requires complex password.. but it can't stop people from sharing the password.. the only thing it can do is to send periodic awareness emails to the employees to not share their password with anyone.. even with their wives and children. But even after that, people do share the passwords...

Please no BS... here we are talking about our national mentality . Where Shia , Sunni or Wahabi all fall in same clan , when act as jahil............. so please take your crap somewhere else ..

The only BS here is your pathetic attempt to blame it on the tablighi jamat.

the jahalat that you are mentioning is more about people discussing the issue and blaming the public and not the authority and then going to the sub level where everything out there can be desensitized if someone pulls the mullah label on people.

That is reason , people like you , who first look at person who pointing out the social issue , not the issue . Wonder why society is ruined and garbage ...

the social issue to be pointed out here is somehow deflecting the blame from the relevant authorities to the poor people.

now run along and do your politics of blood and diyyat

Yes, first teach them social laws before riding the train ...an overloaded train. Where now families of deceased people can't find there lost love one in passenger list.... go get hold of mullah who book these bogies and load with free loaders and break the law multiple times. It's easy to blame the govt,

I wonder how many here would remember what happened on PIA Flight 740 and all the lessons we have refused to learn since then? The loss of lives is always tragic, of course, but naya Pakistan is just like purana Pakistan, as I have said many times.
Its people who bring the change .

The overloaded capacity is for the authority to take care of, no one pulled a gun to the Tezgams drivers head or the station master to have it leave the station with overloaded unsafe goods on the train.

The government is running the trains not the public so the blame lies solely on the government. It is much much easier to blame the public.

Why were the boogies available to be booked? If the overloaded train had made it safely, you would be here serenading the revenues made by the railways.

bura hal hay is mulk kay her department ka. and after every failure of one department others immediately point out their mistakes. aisay hona chahiya tha wasay hona chahiya tha. and if we look at our own fields in which we are working we see massive flaws due to less resources , incompetent sifarshi staff, a few honest but frustrated individuals who dont give their hundred percent out of their frustration.

Yes, and apparently, not much has changed in the people since 1979 at least in this regard.
After 1979 , we got shalwar kameez in offices and corruption. All best institution nose dive. From PIA to national universities.

When people are so downright stupid that they light up a gas stove in passenger cabin, what the government can do?

If it was an accident due to mechanical failure then government is to be blamed, but this is people's own doing against common sense.

I hope the stupid who did this has also died. That will be one less useless shame on human race on the planet.

Jahilon ko kuchh nahi samjhaya jasakta...

Unn ki theory ke mutabiq agar koi aadmi qatal karay tou asal zimmedar SIRF hukumat hai kyun ke hukumat ne usay qatal karnay se nahi roka.

Agar koi traffic light jump kar ke kisi ko kuchal de tou uss ki zimmedar bhi SIRF hukumat hai. Kyunke hukumat ki zimmedari thi ke usay ghar ja ke samjhaya nahi ke signal tornay ke kia nuqsanaat hain.

Agar Sindh main HIV phel raha hai tou uss ki zimmedar bhi SIRF hukumat hai, woh doctors nahin jinhon ne aik hi apparatus multiple patients pe use kia.. kyunke hukumat ne uss doctor ko awareness hi nahi di ke usay reuse nahi karna chahiey tha..

Tuff hai unn logon pe jo sari zimmedari aik party pe daal detay Hain.

Why 1979? Did the gas cylinder cooking method invented itself in 1979?

I was referring to PIA 740 in the context of this thread.

Public attitudes towards safety and implementation of rules are the issue in this topic IMO.

From Pics:-
1-Large size cylinder likely exploded due to external fire causing built up of pressure in stored fuel inside. You can clearly see large cut in single metal sheet body.
2-By looking at size of stove, which is used commercially it seems that cylinder and stove were likely being transported, not being used albeit full.
3-Look at small cylinder,it's Valve assembly is missing, which likely did blasted off after massive pressure inside did built up due to outside fire.
4-If small cylinder leaked and caused fire than it's Valve must have been in place, since leakage would have caused fire and no pressure built up inside.
5-From looks one can easily say, these cyclinders likely added fuel to the fire but saying that they just blasted and caused fire is wrong assumption.
Whatever the cause of initial fire leave aside but prescience of gas cylinders was main source of fire and blasts which causes more deaths.
Put ban on travelling with fuel especially on Public transport and gave big punishment the organizers of such events who can't provide food for visitors, at least they should provide them with gas cylinders and stoves.
