'Sorry, but pellet guns are here to stay': CRPF

Water canons, tear gas and chili powder shells have been used and were found ineffective to control murderous mobs hence the pellet guns

These ppl throw grenades, acid bottles, petrol bombs, they are not a normal crowd like in other cities which can be controlled with water or rubber, pellet guns are needed.

Soldiers should NOT die ; Pro Pakistani Protestors -- stone throwers should die

No two way around it.
They wont work with stone throwers

They are used in Indian Cities especially Delhi

Stone throwers can wait till the water is finished and then come back
Then use something with unlimited 'ammo' like dazzlers and microwave based crowed control devices!!That should do the job even better than pellets can do minus the bloodshed and the resulting whining and moaning!!

What about the cost

And secondly you will need hundreds of such machines and devices

Because stone throwing goes on in every town ; every city

The Best option is Firing ; let them die

All protests will end in two days when they know that The CRPF will only use guns

The old fashioned 303 will send the right message

Well, for that, we would need to enforce total media and internet and telecommunication black out across the valley for an extended period of time for obvious reasons.
PS - They don't make .303s anymore, all the SMLEs you see today are chambered for 7.62X51 mm NATO rounds. :)

The protest is only hurting the local economy. They can keep on protesting keeping local markets closed.

People running out of essentials and eatables
Continued siege pushes people to immense hardships
FARZANA SYED

SRINAGAR, July 21: Thirteen days of unprecedented siege, curfew and restrictions have pushed people across the valley to acute miseries and hardships. As curfew and communication blockade continued in valley for thirteenth consecutive day today people from different parts of Kashmir including summer capital of Srinagar complained of facing immense shortage of eatables and other essential commodities. In the localities across old city where strict restrictions are in place for around two weeks residents complained of facing shortage of medicines, milk and other necessary items.

The non-availability of essentials plus lack of communication has doubled the problems of people in the valley. Following the killing of 22 year old Hizbul Mjahideen commander Burhan Wani in south Kashmir on July 8 curfew was imposed in south Kashmir and other parts of valley including Srinagar. Though the authorities had imposed strict restrictions to thwart any protest the death toll of civilians killed in valley wide protests went up.

Moreover, the cellular networks continued to remain snapped on direction of authorities which has compounded the trouble in valley. Residents from different areas revealed they were facing non-availability of baby food, essential medicines and other items for past many days.

"For past 12 days we have not been able to venture out of our homes. Somehow we will manage to get some vegetables and cereals from the nearby shop in our locality however in past few days these shops have run out of stock", residents from Safa Kadal locality of Srinagar said.

"My wife is suffering from hypertension. I am not able to buy her medicines because all the chemist shops are closed. Plus the security forces are not allowing us to move out of our houses," Mushtaq from Fateh Kadal area said. "The old city has been turned into a garrison during past many days. People revealed that it was very difficult for them to find necessary items for babies and expecting mothers."

"Most of the nearby shops including mine are running out of stock because we are not able to get supplies from our distributors. Due to communication halt we are not able to contact anyone for supplies," a shopkeeper from Khanyar area said.

Residents in several areas revealed that they were running out of essential items like rice and flour. Though authorities had directed the opening of ration ghats and distribution in all areas, locals in many places complained of nonavailability of the same.

Every Active Denial Systems in service or in testing never rule out the fact that it will cause permanent problems or death .

They can break up protests with loud, piercing sound, but Long Range Acoustic Devices (LRADs) can also cause permanent hearing damage. Australian law enforcement agencies are now investing in the technology, but sound and law experts say their potential use is extremely concerning.

This is how the above report even start !
