Some of the world's most elite special forces: Business Insider: Defense

I have doubts about the accuracy of the above. It does not include SAS of UK. SAS was formed in 1941 and is the the Special service that started all others; the US Green Berets ( formed in 1952) are also excluded.

SGS are indeed good, one can say very good, but to say that SGS are better trained, equiped & led than the British SAS! Regrettably, I would disagree.
I think you are looking at different parameters than the list makers...as you mentioned equipment, training, gear, may be salary also and who made who etc but what the list makers have focussed is on performance i.e. based on how many successful missions they carried out and I guess that matters the most rather if a force less equipped can perform the same task equally good, as a much more equipped, is simply meritorious and needs accolades.

After the end of British empire, out of all the former british colonies, india was the most powerful and developed nation. Even more advanced than China at that stage. There was a reason why india was called "the jewel of the british empire".
True;only thing is that by 65,it was all but gone, all of it..............due to a plethora of stupid policies taken by our then ruling figures.Actually,at that time,Pakistan was doing better at economic front than India!!
Pakistan however was set up for collapse by the british and others. It's hard to believe that Pakistan ever had more advanced equipment than india
It might come as a surprise to some but that's exactly what had happened at that time, again due to pacifist politicians.Heck,at one point, there were some serious talks of disbanding the armed forces altogether!!Luckily, the Chinese came to our rescue in 62,in a way,the humiliation was a blessing in disguise if you look at it.
Anyway, the thing is,at that time,Pakistan Army, especially the infantry and artillery arms, was much better equipped and better trained as well compared to their Indian counterparts,it was far more mobile and above all,by that this time,Pakistan Army had developed solid combined arms doctrine on account of their newly formed mechanised infantry forces. But such things were completely missing in the then Indian Army!!Besides, their moral was also at a much higher level due to their somewhat successful operations in the earlier months of the same year,in the Rann of Kutch area.
especially in light of the fact that americans always screwed Pakistan over with regards to spare parts hence making those tanks and fighter jets redundant to us.
Oh,that happened much later. Before 65 (and after as well),you were like the favourite child of both US and UK,(actually, the analysts in the US government had predicted that Pakistan as a naion, had a much better chance of survival than had India) on account of your stance against communism!!That's Cold War for you by the way.
Treacherous Pakistani politicians have always betrayed Pakistan when fighting against an enemy that is many more times bigger than us. Odds that no nation on earth including the americans can even surmount.
Again, that happened much later.Besides, the sole point of disagreement is the figure you quoted, that you had fended off an enemy 8 times larger than yourself, which frankly, is pure baloney, pardon me for being blunt here..............actually,on almost every counts, your forces were ahead of that of India, except the numbers of infantry and even then, the advantage was more like just 2 to 1 in India's favour, and even that is a gross overstatement because, the most well trained infantry formations, those being 8 odd mountain divisions (along with 2 other infantry formations kept in reserve) never joined the war, since they had been deployed along the LAC.................the wounds of 62 were still very fresh after all.

That's what I am saying but Indians won't just simply believe it.

What is there to believe??At most, the Indian Armed forces may be just 2 times of size to that of yours (and that too, while counting the forces reserved for the northern front),but many of you guys tend to blow it out of all proportions just to sound bad ***!!

A lot of what you says is plausible and makes sense but you are completely wrong on 1 count. The americans/british were NEVER EVER real allies of Pakistan. They needed air bases from us to spy on the Soviet Union. That's all it was. The british and americans have an inherent hatred towards Muslims and Muslim nations. It's in their dna. That's why they have murdered, oppressed and destroyed Muslim nations for the last 300 years. The americans/british and anglo-saxons are racially, culturally, genetically, politically and socially completely different and diametrically opposed to Pakistanis/Muslims. We are completely incompatible with them. We have nothing in common with them or have anything to bind one another with. The americans/british have never ever done anything good for Pakistan and have taken every opportunity to try to destroy us. Pakistan and other nations are forced to do business with them because they are the most powerful nations on earth. The only country that matters to Pakistan is China.

That is exactly what happened that day..

When the shooting started .. The first to go in were few 1-2 soldiers who rushed in .. Tried to control the situation .. I believe one was shot.. Than QRD arrived and SSG were airborne within 15 mins from Tarbella base (according to the SSG officer who lead the operation)... They weren't briefed and prepared the mission aboard the chopper..

And it's due to them that a thousand kids were saved .. And due to the sacrifice of the first few troops who rushed in after shots were fired.
Initially only one lone brave soldier attacked the terrorist and by all accounts he offered very robust resistance but was martyred in the resulting firefight as all the terrorists had descended upon his position as they thought they were under attack by multiple attackers, his name was Lance Naik Muhammad Altaf of an engineering battalion.

Not 15 Mints. But after 40-45 Mints. As per the Dawn news special report based on SSG operatives narratives.

I will give you all the best gear you want, and all you need to do is to get those gear and walk into a Taliban Close quarter L Shape Ambush, and if you survive your contact, come back and talk to me about gear. You know nothing about Taliban until you had tried their world famous L Shape Ambush. Let see what would you do with all these gear when you are about 25-50 meter from the Taliban and too close for Airstrike, too close of Arty strike, too close for even 81mm mortar.

Don't disrespect your enemy, otherwise it would be you who are lifting out of the battlefield feet first.

Have you ever faced them ? Some stories would be nice ...

Yeah, I had some fight with the them, but were never ambushed.

I had to do counter ambush tho, but was never in the killzone myself.

Shouldn't every major city have its own QRF of sorts (like Brazil's BOPE) that is highly specialized in urban warfare and CQB?

They don't need to worry about operating without support deep behind enemy lines (like the regular SSG does); they don't need to know how to HAHO, etc. --- they should be specialists at hostage rescue and capture/kill in built-up environments, like some SWAT teams around the world. In this regard, it should be even more practiced than the SSG. It can initially be led by retired Zarrar Coy folks.

It isn't practical to wait on Zarrar, the premiere Army CT unit, to show up from Tarbela.
