Looks like the Russians have adapted, and have the necessary numbers to go for the kill.

-all captured territory is now defended properly, with several possible defensive lines of retreat to grind out any ukie counter attack.
This is where the lower quality conscripts are valuable.

- Highly specialized / elite wagner assault units are attacking urban buildings, after they have been pummelled by massive Russian arty. These are extremely complex tactics that laughs in the face of western propaganda. (Very good wagner movie out showing their work)

- using mobile warfare to flank ukies. With small specialized groups attacking enemy weak areas, rear, flanks, targets of opportunity and generally causing havoc among ukies.

-using major diversionary attacks (again possible post mobolization) forces the ukies to spread themselves thin, before getting hit with a sledgehammer when the real russian assault begins

-ukies are rushing jn reserves in mid training to desperately plug gaps, while German intel (secret russian propaganda) is alarmed by the catastrophic losses thr best ukie units are suffering.

The panic and desperation in western circles are beautiful to watch

In the next 48-72 hours the Ukrainians will have to evacuate from Bakhmut or face another type of Mariupol but I think stragetically they will fall back to Kramtorsk and take the only exit route remaining before it is taken because if it is taken it will be over for them inside the city trapped
