RSO Mujahids Ambush Burmese on BD-Burma Border

So what you are saying is that they are making cross border operations and BGB is not being able to secure the border. That cannot be a good thing.

Rohingya issue needs solution, but I believe allowing this kind of activity will not be good for Bangladesh. If they use our soil to launch attack and retreat, that makes us responsible for their acts. Hopefully both sides will work to secure border so this does not become a regular thing.
1.We can hardly call them cross-border because the border does not exist and a vast area where neither nor Burma has administrative control.

2. If in fact if we had allowed the Mujahids to operate from our territory openly, then this problem would be solved quickly. Once BD gets serious Burma would be chastised and on its own negotiate a deal with the Rohingyas. The Burmese have for centuries pounced upon Arakan only when Bengal was weak.

I thought that Myanmar had built a fence along the border.

Bangladesh will never become strong like Bengal Sultanate, which could draw strength from Delhi Sultanate next door. During Mughal we could launch military operation on Arakan. Those times are gone. Right now our priority should be to get close to Chinese and solve this problem under Chinese umbrella. Whatever we do in Arakan front, it must be cleared with the Chinese.

Myanmar is now in a strange situation, they are trying to open up and get market access from the West, but they cannot alienate the Chinese too much. So they are walking a tight rope. We need to coordinate with Beijing on this issue like most others.

what has India done about the violence on Burmese Muslims?

Why are you asking me for what has india done them?

These rohingyas are a minority in Burma, their numbers are very small compared to ethnic rakhines. Plus the drama that unfolded before showed us that, Burmese authorities have no qualms in allowing the massacre of rohingya. Thus any backlash will be greatly felt by the rohingya community.

This event may only corrupt the public of Burma to be more hateful of the rohingyas, instead of accepting them into the Burmese society. Plus we have a lot of separatist in our southeast regions, Burma might try to get back at us, by using our tribal separatist, if they think that we are sponsoring terrorism in their country. We already have strained relation with Burma. Anyway if armed rohingya are in Bangladesh that means arms proliferation is probably high and might lead to high violent crime rate in our country.

The best way to do this is by diplomacy. Using china and the US or even ASEAN. Burma is sort of an apartheid in a sense that it tries to alienate its minorities and cuts back their rights, only these countries/organisation have enough influence to change Burma's ways. 40 militants attacking a patrol isn't going to solve the problem from its root.

Oh c'mon, buzz off.

You should go ahead and do it. This is not the first time he is endorsing terrorism.

Do you have any links to prove he's done it? Because if he has, it will be my regrettable duty to go ahead and report him both with the local and Canadian authorities.

Either way, I will go ahead and do it with no personal bias.

Dude sorry but I won't dig out those threads, won't spend that much time on this guy. But that is always his trend of posting here. You can start with this thread itself and observe his future threads, posts as well.

In that sense, Bangladesh was a result of cross border terrorism in 1971... Rohingyas have rights to fight against aggressors and avenge deaths of near and dear ones just like we did in 1971.
Yes that well and good.but this is not 71,and we are not , I stress on NOT capable of counter defending Myanmar aggressive behavior/attack.it will be foolhardy and will put people's lives in boarder region in unnecessary danger.
This should be controlled with iron hands as soon as possible. We should not put our own people's lives/property in jeopardy because some of us have misguided notion about rohingyas/rakhain/barmeas or whatever the hell they are.

Myanmar calls on Bangladesh to clear out RSO insurgents

Myanmar has called on the Bangladesh government to cooperate in clearing out Rohingya Solidarity Organisation (RSO) insurgents after attacks on a border post killed four policemen.

Border authorities from Myanmar and Bangladesh organised a meeting to discuss recent RSO attacks on Myanmar border outposts yesterday. General Tin Ko Ko from Myanmar’s No. 1 border police force and personnel from the Bangladeshi border guard attended the meeting.

Myanmar has requested for the Bangladeshi authorities to help eliminate the insurgents and demands explanations over whether they might be backing the RSO rather than taking action against them.

The RSO attacked and ambushed a Myanmar border post on May 13 and 17. Four policemen from a patrol team were killed. Due to the successive attacks by the RSO, Myanmar military is currently safeguarding the boundary together with the patrol team.

Maungdaw – The authorities will conduct a sweep if insurgents continue to carry out cross-border operations based in Bangladesh, said Brigadier Tin Ko Ko of Myanmar Frontier Police Force.

Tin Ko Ko was speaking at the Myanmar-Bangladesh meeting on border security held on May 21.

“If there are further attacks occurred at the Myanmar-Bangladesh border, the military will designate the insurgency zone in order to clear out the insurgents,” he said.

In their response, the Bangladesh border authorities said they did not condone insurgency and that they had no information on the matter.

At the meeting, the frontier police called for the cooperation of Bangladesh to carry out mopping-up operations against the insurgents.

The commander of Bangladesh Border Guards in Koh Bazar said, however, the insurgents were based on the Myanmar side of the border. He added that Bangladesh would deploy patrol teams to strengthen its border security.

Failing to secure the border cooperation, the Myanmar delegation concluded that the option left was to reason with the Bangladesh government through diplomatic channel.

Incidents of cross-border insurgency were reported soon after the May 8 Flag-raising Ceremony held by the two neighbouring countries.

One of incidents occurred on May 13. Insurgents ambushed a patrol team, killing four Myanmar policemen.

such incident would get a more harsh reply.

Such activities would force the Burmese to behave.

Marhaba! Marhaba!

Jihad in Arakan has now become obligatory to all Muslims everywhere. Ja'n and Ma'al is to be pledged in a Jihad.
@Jungibaaz supporting terrorism is illegal apart from violation of forum rules. I cant find forum rules page now, where has it gone?

Any act of aggression from bangladesh to Burma will be met with an Indian response on bangladesh. Please think carefully before you act.

Good, soon these militants would start destabilizing BD and then you know the script. ;)
Well you know mate, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, they will be in the same mess our other neighbor is in, where they try to differentiate between terrorists.

Rohingya repression and killings are regrettable, but this is absolutely not the solution. I would hope that Bangladesh govt. will make sure that its soil is not used for cross border terrorism, catch the miscreants and hand them over to Myanmar govt.
