Rival groups launch operations against Pakistan Taliban in Mohmand

Good move by Pakistani ISI. But i would like to highlight that in past all such efforts in past ended-up in disaster. Like our cricket team we are poor at finishing in other matters too. Brilliant work by secret agency remain inconclusive because other government departments, civilian bureaucracy, politicians etc are not working as a coherent machine. Such moves if are not backed by political initiative usually results in a new problem. I wish our government has a clear cut policy regarding terrorism.

Other thing is that it again underline the need of establishing cantonments and road/rail links to these far flung areas. Border with Afghanistan must be sealed, otherwise these victories are short lived. God bless Pakistan and Death to TTP. :pakistan:

Considering the huge backing Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has from the various Islamic movements in Pakistan, this was expected.

Don't want to detract conversation but would like to add that we will appreciate if he will play its role to settle sectarian violence when some extremist mind organizations in his pocket.

on topic,
We should learn from past and very carefully use our cards and i hope next time proxies will be out of our border not in our towns.

They are locals from the area who wan't to join hands with Pakistan Army and Pakistan Government, against occupation of miscreants. They are very much in-charge of small regions, their villages, and are initiated by local tribal leaders/elders. Pakistan Army offers support, but to only a limited scale.

its delicate because it isnt un-normal for tribes to develop differences over things like land or things like that

Pak Army trying to be part of solution, not problem

as long as these TTP animals are being butchered in their hideouts across the border, problem is slowly solved :)

This enemy of Pakistan has been attacking the nation without an iota of remorse. Their terror network spreads throughout the country. It is evident with attacks on a SHO’s convoy in Peshawar, and a High Court Judge in Karachi. At the same time, their cowards would sneak in the middle of the night to kill innocent unarmed tourist in remote Nanga Purbat. After each attacks their Spokesperson will proudly claim responsibility of the heinous crimes against the nation, while justifying the attacks with their twisted ideology. This was bound to happen! Peace loving tribal groups, opposing these attacks, to organize and pick up arms against the enemies of their nation. The TTP is an elusive enemy that has caused much damage to Pakistan. Their mission is to weaken the nation and enforce their agenda of death and destruction in the region. Together we have weaken these terror groups, and it is time for all to unite and land the final blow, so people of the region on the whole can take a sigh of relief and rebuild their lives around peace and prosperity.

TTP's top brass are hiding in Kunar and other areas across the border for quite some time now

NATO has been unwilling or unable to contain them so Pakistan will be forced to think out of the box and approach the issue on its own

Time for the Taliban to pay for their crimes it seems. This seems like a new strategy by the Pakistan army which hopes to dislodge the Taliban from Tirah using the help of the Ansar Ul Islam and the Lashkar E Toiba. The TTP and Mangal Bagh's Lashkar e islam are the groups being targetted.

I hope the TTP is destroyed in the fighting so utterly they can never raise their anti Pakistani heads ever again.

And then who will dislodge the Ansar and the lashkar? Once again, we seem to be going for small tactical moves which contradict what should be our Strategic objective

Provide just enough support to get TTP out of the game. No point in providing advanced weaponry unless we want another group that's too powerful for anyone's good.

The less snakes we nurture, the better.

Still, good turn of events. Conventional warfare could only get limited results. Armed militias fighting TTP is more effective and logical.

An agreement must have been made with Pro Pakistani militia to hand over security to the army once areas are cleared of TTP.

You must understand TTP is a creation, a foreign funded militancy just like the one in Syria.

Only difference is Pakistanis are not has dumb as Syrians to not realise this and we are capable of hitting back.

And what if these new proxies turn their guns on us tomorrow? They get used for fighting ttp today, tomorroe they want what was promised to them or more, they don't get it, they decide to attack PA and other govt entities and in turn also the civilians. And we have another ttp like entity to deal with.

The difference is they are not receiving money from a foreign source. ISI are paying them so they can choose to cut off supply of arms and money if they do that.
