Chinese Navy fighter jet crashes into factory in Taizhou, no casualties reported

Taizhou residents got quite the surprise last night when a fighter jet crashed into a local factory.

In a statement, Chinese Navy spokesman Liang Yang confirmed that a fighter jet of the East Sea Fleet had crashed into a sewing machine factory in Taizhou, Zhejiang province, at around 7:30 p.m., during a night training mission, CRI reports.

Yang added that the pilot had parachuted safely to the ground before the crash and there were no casualties reported. The cause of the crash is under investigation.

While fortunately no one was hurt, the plane crash did ignite a fire in the factory that attracted the eyes and camera lenses of locals. Pictures of the burning factory have since flooded onto Weibo.

The crash occurs just after the Chinese military scrambled three fighter jets in the South China Sea on Tuesday as a US warship sailed within 12 miles of one of China's largest artificial islands, in yet another operation countering China's military buildup in the region.

For one reason or another, fighter jet crashes are nothing new in China, or even in the city of Taizhou. Just last December a PLA Jian-10 fighter tumbled down to earth during a night training exercise near the city, with both pilots ejecting safely. The PLA blamed the crash on "frequent nighttime training."

Only a few months before, another Jian-10 fighter jet crashed near Shenyang, in northeastern China, again no casualties were reported. This time local media blamed the crash on the plane's imported Russian engine while praising the pilot's "outstanding solider's conviction."

In 2014, a fighter jet crashed right into the walls of a Chengdu property development, setting fires ablaze and injuring at least seven people

The year before that Chinese military authorities confirmed that two pilots had died after their plane crashed during a drill in Shandong province.

And in 2012, a military aircraft crashed to the ground in downtown Shantou, Guangdong province, destroying a house and severely injuring a young woman.
Only you said it is a J10B, not "they".
It is a J10AH with 31F engine,

WTH is "frequent nighttime training"??
Is it hazardous??

yeap, noise hazardous.

both you and your media are lying. we don't even know what kind of jet that crashed and j10b with chinese engine only exist on prototype version.

feel free to correct any wrong information with your trusty source, my pal.
We're outsiders.

Some J-10 variants could be considered as quite new.
Is it so strange to see them crashed very often ?

from your own original post the article just says a jet crashes into factory. that's it. unknown...

let me repeat again, j10b with chinese engine only exist on prototype versions. the engine isn't ready for single engined fighter yet. when your vietcong media saying j10b with ws10, i know it's mega horse shit straight away.

Ok. Let me correct you, "this should be Viet media" or Vietnamese media. Vietcong is another thing.

@wanglaokan @Chinese-Dragon

The PLA blamed the crash on "frequent nighttime training."

what does this supposed to mean ?

ON Topic :

Fighter crashing occurs for a variety of reasons . Glad to hear that no lives are lost :D
Just build a new one, we don't have to bid MMRCA. The intensity of training is much higher than used to be, Al31 FN is not reliable enough. That's why we start to put WS10 engine on it. I don't worry about it, especially the pilot was not dead. We will get a fresh new J10AH for the navy very soon. Very lucky no one died in the accident. PLAAF is very emphasis on the night training, a good sign. AL31 is not designed to prop a single engine fighter, we will get rid of it soon. That's why India don't like Russia stuff either.

How do you guys think about the very often crashes of J-10 variants ? We didn't see that happened to other designs
