Pakistan working on Nuclear Submarine ?

For the Cost of one nuclear submarine, Pakistan can fortify its entire coastline with advanced sensors and datalink the information to more modest shooters.

See the last page on this thread, the Indian Plans and the proposed counter I suggested. India plans to build the sensor network into the south china sea, and so Pakistan can ask China to do the same in Pakistan's EEZ and maybe China can build one off the cost of Myanmar to keep an eye on the straits of Malacca and the Indians as well as others.

Most of our senior members are well aware of the fact that there is no difference between pak SLV, ICBM & SSBN.. If we stopped SUPARCO working on our own SLV due to international pressure . It means we also put hold on ICBM & SSBN programs.... Its better thread should be locked for further mental torture for the keyboard warriors like me.. :close_tema:

Nuclear submarines are overpriced and overkill. They have been nothing more than tools of politics since the end of the Cold War. Advance AIP and VLS equipped conventional submarines are the way to go for nuclear weapons states like Pakistan seeking littoral deterrence.

Agreed, the money is better spent on quieter AIP submarines the way the Australians are doing with the Short-fin Barracuda and the Swedes are doing with the A-26. Further more, Pakistan should focus on detecting and tracking Indian naval vessels through underwater, over the water, and from the atmosphere (Sosus, Shore based OTH radar, and long range OTH radars as well as cube sat surveillance satellites). this kind of surveillance will help coordinate our AIP submarines and surface fleet through radio and datalinks rather than the subs us their own sonars and radars to try to find or avoid the enemy per their mission.
