New Delhi: 48 hours after Osama bin Ladens killing, the White House said Osama was unarmed when he was killed but his photos are too gruesome and inflammatory to be made public.
Meanwhile, theres more embarrassment for Pakistan that insists that they knew of Operation Geronimo - The CIA says that US deliberately kept them in the dark for fear of spread of information.
It was decided that any effort to work with the Pakistanis could jeopardise the mission. They might alert the targets, said Leon Panetta, CIA Director.
Responding to CIA's statement, Pakistans envoy to the US Hussain Haqqani was non-committal at best.
Speaking to CNN-IBN, Haqqani said Pakistan will probe the Osama incident after the CIA director virtually blamed Islamabad for protecting the terrorist.
The US, India and Pakistan have to eliminate terrorism together. We all have been victims at different levels. There individuals who need to be identified for not reporting correctly or turning a blind eye. That is something we have to figure out, he said.
Meanwhile, the pressure is growing on Pakistan. France and the UK both have asked for an explanation on how the world's most wanted man was found in a town close to the Pakistani capital - a town with a huge military presence.
The French Foreign Minster said he will seek answers when he meets his Pakistani counterpart later this month. British Prime Minister David Cameron says he suspects that an extensive support network was provided to Osama by Pakistan.
Clearly bin Laden had a support system within Pakistan, we don't yet know what that support system included, said Cameron.
