Pakistan Orders More AW139s.

Used by 38 countries, they look good, and function well... and do the job day in and day out, good for our country and armed forces.
 
The Government of Pakistan has ordered an undisclosed number of AW139 intermediate twin engine helicopters, according to manufacturer Leonardo. Apart from performing emergency medical service duties, the aircraft will also be used for utility and passenger transports. Leonardo said of the order: “This latest fleet expansion is a further step towards the completion of a fleet renewal programme spread over several batches and highlights the success of the AW139. Leonardo is also delivering logistic support and training services for the growing fleet of AW139s in Pakistan. A significant number of AW139s are already in service in Pakistan, with several operated by the Pakistan Government for EMS/SAR, relief and transport duties.”

Leonardo announced Monday that the Government of Pakistan will introduce into service an undisclosed number of additional AW139 intermediate twin engine helicopters.

The aircraft will be used to perform utility, passenger transport and emergency medical service operations across the nation. The helicopters will be delivered in early 2019.

This latest fleet expansion is a further step towards the completion of a fleet renewal programme spread over several batches and highlights the success of the AW139. Leonardo is also delivering logistic support and training services for the growing fleet of AW139s in Pakistan. A significant number of AW139s are already in service in Pakistan, with several operated by the Pakistan Government for EMS/SAR, relief and transport duties.

Typically paf sar heli sqn were 2-3 heli so total 9 sar sqn with 2 aw total about 18-20, sqn also has mix of mi-171 and aw or alloutes

unless things are changing and mi-171 being assigned to new transport wing in south and north ??

New transport wing?
As of now there are only 2 transport wing?
 
i think they are talking about the order which was placed last year in February and later NO.88 Squadron equipped with the same helicopters

I think Bahria Town also flies one AW 139, is that correct ?
