Pakistan offers 44 T80U's for western military aid

Within a year, Pakistan will offer an airbase to US for operations against Afghan Taliban and Iran, specially after normalization of relations between Iran-saudi Arabia.

You can mark this post, and we will talk in a year. :D

Against Iran? Doubtful, but against Afghanistan? Ofc

In theory nothing wrong with this. If you can sell for the price of a VT4 and replace them with those makes sense. The Ukrainians use these and have comfort with them and some logistics for their own engines. Less training needed. The value they provide to the Ukrainians (and west) is potentially higher than more capable Western tanks.

If we trusted the top brass to have Pakistans interest at heart, this could be supported but given its track record of being Dogs of Doval really hope this is fake news.

Uncle Daddy Sam won’t mess with Iran, and neither would their lackeys at GHQ. For all the anti Iranian/Shia hate by some on this forum, it speaks volume at the impotency of the Pakistani state.
Also, uncle daddy Sam foreign policy evolves around neighbors fighting each other, or at least applying local pressure to ensure no one steps out of line. They have india for china, Pakistan for india, Iran for the Arabs, Israel for the Arabs, Arabs for Iran, N Korea for S Korea and vice versa, Russians for the Europeans, Ukrainians for the Russian. Basically, they want chaos and disunity. It helps them achieve their goals

Pakistan simply cannot afford three fronts, especially not at a time like this, it's an absurd idea

The amicability with India itself is simply so that they can focus on Afghanistan, Balochistan and FATA without hassle, they're already struggling, they can't add Iran to the list

Exactly,, Hindus get their dhoti in a twist over everything

But this makes sense, Pakistan is going down the VT4-Haider route, if we can unload older tanks for a good price and replace them with VT4s or upcoming Haiders I'd take that deal

If the Russians don't care
If it gets us positivity from the west, Ukrainians it's a win win

Apart from a massive amount of new ordinance, the west even took older stock of rockets from us. We were hardly going to immediately use old stock which can now be replaced with newer stock

Sounds good 👍

What’s the update on retired 35 x T-80UDs
I can definitely confirm the retirement of at least 3. One is a monument now, one is parked at the EME training complex for training (this one is still functional but as it stands is in too poor of a condition for a fight) and another one I believe was at either the central spares depot or 502. All three of these are from the older batch of 35 that didn’t have the upgrades. I cannot say with 100% surety that the other 32 of this type have been retired as well, but given we have not seen them in pictures or videos for nearly a decade now, it would seem that way, maybe they are in long term storage now or have been cannibalized for parts, or maybe due to their small number they just aren’t seen often (the confusing thing being that in the early Mid-2000s there were many pictures of them alongside the newer ones), Maybe they were modernized to the newer standard (I think this is less likely because they’d need an entirely new turret). Could be a number of things.

Could not renting be an option? Any destroyed tank could then be bought of. I don't know...

If they send Tanks to Ukraine it will be a secret well kept, we will only know its months or years after when someone will write a book or something.

No they won’t. They’ll be seen within days on videos and photos from the front. If common artillery shells stuck out within days, then what chance do these MBTs which are only operated by Pakistan have?

Congratulations for again poking nose to an international affair where you don't belong.

Yes, agreed. unnecessarily pleasing to the USA.

Wrong take.

Pakistan is important enough that the US had to change the gov here in order to get
what it required.

The day Pakistan makes friends with Russia and allow China as well as Russia access to warm water.
The dollar will cease to exist.

You'll barely see such clueless ruling class in any country in modern times, barring some Central African countries.

Meanwhile, the Paks are hoping to get from China their most advanced 5th-gen planes J35's.

Well that won't be good for Pakistan, i guess there goes us been neutral in geopolitical conflicts around the world.
