So it seems to have CIWS, but still not SAMs??

Indeed, why bother with installing a SAM on a ship primarily engaged in anti-pirate ops? Not in the last place because it is intended as interim vessel (max. 10 years use?)? Navies have finite budgets and have to prioritize spending.

True that. The Alamgeer is now an extended endurance Patrol Craft. It would be imprudent to sink any more finances into it.

Plus, she is still a very useful and capable ASW platform, that PN can use. Unless more of this type start coming available soon, which gives some economy of scale, I wouldn´t invest in developing any but the most rudimentary upgrade.

BTW, what is the use of these masks and gloves? Fire retardant or anything?

Those masks and gloves are protection from Flash and Blast.

What flash would there be inside the bridge and when the ship is just leaving the home port in peace time?

They are following the drill that would be followed when they will 'be closed up at Action Stations'.
Now since this for a TV report, this adds drama to the footage even though the evolution is one of leaving harbor.

You have some connection with the navy or anything?

Btw, the Captain and some other officers weren't wearing those masks.
