PPP, PML-N candidates disqualified

ISLAMABAD: Two election candidates, one each from the PPP and PML-N, were disqualified from elections on Thursday. The Supreme Court barred former provincial minister of Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah from contesting elections, overturning the Sindh High Court verdict. A three-member bench comprising Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammed Chaudhry, Justice Gulzar Ahmed and Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed issued an order to prevent Murad Ali Shah, who belongs to the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), from contesting May 11 polls on the grounds that he holds dual nationality. Meanwhile, a full bench of the Lahore High Court disqualified PML-N candidate Sheikh Muhammad Yaqoob to contest elections from NA-89 and PP-78. agencies

that is why from day one, I say, to hold free and fair elections, military deployment is a must... full proof security !
