PAF F-16 # 82603 Another One That Was Recovered By PAC

Why were they grounded?
Engine issues, regarding compress blade cracks or turbine blade failures. Two crashes back to back, both from No. 14 squadron and that too with very experienced pilots. Fleet had to go through an entire overhaul. Pilots didn't fly for more than 10 months.

WTH it was serious . back them PAC have such expertise ? i think USA helped them
Yes they helped them. P&W were involved as well.

If you are talking about crashes in 1991, then one was due to the fact that instead of an original part, a Mirage part was installed during maintance.

I got conflicting info for that. The flight commander of the squadron at the time said that no Mirage part was installed as it was not possible to do so. And then someone else said it was.

And the second aircraft crashed due to the same issue with the original engines, hence grounding the entire fleet.

Were these specific to PAF or the entire F-16 fleet world over?
With the specific PW equipped aircraft

Why US star and stripes on a Pakistani jet landing in the US though?

Makes it easier / quicker to transit through countries where the USA has military airspace agreements and Pakistan does not? ( ie airspace permission for military jets take time and money to gather and is just a hassle ).

Don't feel compelled to respond if you don't know the real reason, it just makes you look bad.
