Naval and Military developments in Turkey’s neighborhood

@cabatli_53 , bro, can you rename the thread to “Naval and Military developments in Turkey’s neighborhood” so it can be used as a place where we can discuss not only the developments of the Greek navy but also those in the other countries around us- Israel, Egypt, Russia etc.

I guess that it can turn into an interesting thread where we can discuss with foreign users too and where we can learn some new things too.

Most Greeks are insufferable when the topic is Turks. This Dante80 fella seems like an alright bloke though.

The same can be said about some Turks when it comes to Greeks too. Internet is a beautiful place. :D

But to be honest discussions are always better and more fruitful when you respect the opponent and you stay polite so I hope we won’t turn this thread into a troll d*ck measuring contest.

Dr. Rolf Wirtz, CEO of Thyssenkrupp Marine Systems said: “We are very proud to contribute to Israel’s security. The Sa’ar 6 ships are the most advanced and largest in the Israel Navy. Israeli industry will put together the final systems, and these ships will greatly aid the country’s economy.”

The ships have a special low-signature design that includes exclusively tailored solutions and many new technologies. The contract for the delivery of the four ships of Saar 6 was signed in May 2015.

After the planning stage, the construction phase began in February 2018. Within a short period of 15 months after the first steel cutting boards, the ship was launched. The Magen is scheduled to be delivered in the spring of 2020 after completion of the construction and the final tests phase, and the other three ships will then be completed at intervals of several months.

That thing probably has really bad balance. Putting that many armaments on that small of a ship with only that displacement? Yeah...

Looks nice on paper I don't expect it to live up to it though in real world tests.

AND it has an hanger for a S-70? Yeah that thing won't perform well at all.

When you look at the Med. Sea oil and blue homeland dispute; you will see many countries with many different kinds of warships; the question is if they are united against Turkey or act with Turkey.

When the question answered, i will ask the same question to evaluate the commander circles, after all, that is what makes sense not the vehicles.

A tiny quiz: what is the function of investing in LHD instead of frigates, corvettes, sub etc. in the current situation?

Depending on where you put the minimum size to take into account, Greece has somewhere between 1,200 to 6,000 islands. About 200 of them are inhabited. This does not make Greece an island nation though, not even close.

Here is a list of island countries for reference.
If your only referance is wikipedia we can change it to make you a central europe country without sea. Then we can argue on it. C'mon Greece is a country which have islands. It does not make the country an island country like UK.

We all know international law about sea area of island countries are different. Some Greeks trying to introduce themselves as island nation so different rules can be applied. (Not targeting you here) Some Greeks think that can be useful. Good luck at proving that you are an island. If you can prove this we can do the same for Turkey. We are both peninsulas, remember?

Interesting how Turcophobia binds Arabs and Jews together.
