Multiple terror attacks on the UK, France and Germany have been thwarted by the security services.

The attack on Britain was planned to be in the same style as the Mumbai attacks in November 2008, according to Sky News sources.
The intelligence agencies involved said that London was a target, along with other British cities.

And offcourse Al Quaida / Taliban were the usual culprits..Dont understand how can these groups sneak under radar of massive western intelligence..something doesnt sit right with the idea of blaming these organisations..my best guess is that Al-Quaida is a non-existent boogey man and the attacks are infact co-ordinated by rouge intelligence agents..

Multi-Attack Terror Plot On European Cities

Intelligence agencies have intercepted a terror plot to launch Mumbai-style attacks on Britain and other European countries, according to Sky News sources.

Sky's foreign affairs editor Tim Marshall said militants based in Pakistan were planning simultaneous strikes on London and major cities in France and Germany.

He said the plan was in the advanced but not imminent stage and the plotters had been tracked by spy agencies "for some time".

Intelligence sources told Sky the planned attacks would have been similar to the commando-style raids carried out in Mumbai.

Then, Pakistan-based Islamist group Lashkar-e-Taiba killed 166 people in a series of gun and grenade attacks in the Indian city.

Marshall said the European plot had been "severly disrupted" following intelligence sharing between Britain, France, Germany and the US.
It is not known whether the attackers are already in Europe.

News of the planned strikes came as the Eiffel Tower in Paris was evacuated because of a bomb scare for the second time in two weeks.

"It doesn't necessarily mean it was a target, but it shows how nervous the French are," added Marshall.

When the terror plan came to light, the US military began helping its European allies by trying to kill the leaders behind the plot in Pakistan's Waziristan region.

There have been a record 20 missile attacks using drone aircraft there in the past 30 days.

"I am led to believe a number of these attacks were designed against the leadership of this particular plot, which had an al Qaeda and possibly some sort of Taliban connection projecting into Europe," Marshall added.

"And they have killed several of the leaders - which is why the terror threat has not risen."

Britain's terror threat level remains at 'severe' following the nderpants bomber's attempted attack on Detroit airport last Christmas.

Pakistan-based terror plot targeting Europe foiled: report

(AFP) – 37 minutes ago
LONDON — Intelligence agencies have disrupted a Pakistan-based plot to launch terror attacks in Britain, France and Germany, Britain's Sky News television reported Tuesday, citing intelligence sources.

Simultaneous strikes were planned in London and major cities in France and Germany and the plan was advanced but the attacks were not imminent, according to the broadcaster.

Militants based in Pakistan had been planning the attack and had been tracked by spy agencies for some time, said Sky.

The attacks would have been similar to commando-style raids carried out in Mumbai, India, intelligence sources were cited as telling the broadcaster.
The plot in Europe was uncovered after intelligence-sharing between London, France, Germany and the United States, said Sky.

When investigators discovered the plan, the US military began helping its European allies track down the organisers in Pakistan, said the broadcaster.
The report of the foiled plot came after official warnings in France of an imminent terrorist attack.

It also came on the same day tourists were evacuated from the Eiffel Tower in Paris following the second bomb alert this month at the world famous landmark.

The all clear was given late Tuesday following the evacuation, sparked by a phone call to the operator of the tower at 1640 GMT warning of a bomb.
On Monday, a major Paris train station was evacuated after a bomb alert that proved to be a false alarm.

Who was it now, Lashkar e Taiba? lol

Every militant group has their own style, and if it was "Mumbai style" then it would be Lashkar e taiba. amirite?

That is actually weakness. Because Western Intelligence, especially American intelligence, has grown rapidly since 9/11, they are kind of overloaded with information and it's difficult to find the information your looking for. Actually, the problem isn't merely the quantity of information, but that there isn't a syncing process to all of it.
