Mosul Consulate Hostage Crisis (Update: All Hostages Have Been Freed)

They stick their noses on matters that they can't handle just for emotional reasons and prestige, doesn't means everything is out of track in the country.

Your PM does not have the defence of the secular country in mind. He wants to tear down your secular order and establish his own caliphate.

You better should be worried, your Chief of staff ozel has a bad illness and needs to be replaced. Erdogan will use that chance to install one of his puppets into that position. After that, it is downhill for your secular order.

Stop believing in conspiracy theories, this guy might be a religious nut but Turkey is not a basic middle eastern country, Turkey is one of the most secular and least religious nations with Muslims majority, destroying secularism, sharia, caliphate these are ridiculous to even consider, best he can do make the state a little more religious, kind of like close to Muslim Brotherhood but not even that level.

You have no clue about the demands of your own society. 70 - 80% of your Citizens are pro islam. They will salute a new caliphate. All they need is cheap credits for their consumption lifestyle.

Western banks make sure that Erdogan will get his cheap credits until he decides to turn against the west. In his youth erdogan was an extremist. He has nothing good for your country in mind. The west wants to destroy all secular muslim countries. Secularism means power and religion means bakcwardness.

ISIS in control of ‘35 percent’ of Syrian territory

The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) is now in control of 35 percent of the Syrian territory following a string of victories, the London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said Friday.

ISIS holdings include nearly all of Syria's oil and gas fields, the monitoring group said in a statement, Al Arabiyareported.

One of the latest gains of the self-proclaimed "caliphate" was the seizure of the country's biggest oil fields, in Deir el-Zour in eastern Syria, earlier in the week.

Deir Ezzor borders Homs province as well as Iraq, where the jihadist group has spearheaded a major Sunni militant offensive that has seen large swathes of territory fall out of the Baghdad government's control.

Meanwhile, jihadists have killed 270 Syrian regime fighters, civilian security guards and employees since seizing a gas field in Homs province, the Observatory added, according to Agence France-Presse.

The London-based group described Thursday's takeover of the Shaar field as "the biggest" anti-regime operation by the ISIS since it emerged in the Syrian conflict a year ago.

The watchdog said it had documented "the death of 270 people killed in the fighting or executed" since Thursday.

"A large majority of the men killed were executed at gunpoint after being taken prisoner following the takeover of the camp," Rami Abdel Rahman, the Observatory director said.

"Eleven of the dead were civilian employees, while the rest were security guards and National Defence Forces members," he added.

A counter-attack by Bashar al-Assad's forces on Friday left 40 ISIS militants dead, Abdel Rahman said.

The fate of nearly 100 people who worked at the site remained unknown, according to earlier figures released by the Observatory.

Abdel Rahman condemned the deaths of the 270 Syrian regime fighters.

"The Observatory condemns summary execution as a war crime, regardless of which side it is committed by in the Syrian conflict," he said.

"Summary execution is a war crime -- whether of civilians or combatants. They are prisoners of war and must not be executed."

The Syrian government did not officially confirm the deaths, but supporters of Assad posted photographs of the dead, and described their killings as a "massacre".

One pro-regime Twitter user wrote: "Thirty martyrs were brought to Homs hospital from the Shaar gas field... Homs is still bleeding."

Gruesome footage apparently recorded by the jihadists at the gas field and posted on YouTube showed dozens of bodies, some of them mutilated, strewn across a desert landscape.

One video shows a jihadist posing with the bodies as he speaks in German interspersed with religious terms in Arabic, seemingly celebrating the killings

FREED HOSTAGES MEET WITH THEIR FAMILIES IN TURKEY’S CAPITAL

ISTANBUL — The 49 hostages who were held by the self-proclaimed Islamic State of Iraq and Sham (ISIS) militants in Iraq's Mosul city was freed in an operation that was completed early on Saturday and finally met with their families in a flood of emotions after their plane landed on Ankara's Esenboğa Airport with Davutoğlu accompanying them.

Davutoğlu spoke at the airport before a large crowd and said the country was witnessing a remarkable moment as Turkish intelligence officers managed to retrieve the hostages through a successful operation. Regarding the day on which the hostages were freed, as a day of celebration , Davutoğlu thanked consulate Öztürk Yılmaz and other staff of the consulate for their patience and said they knew they were serving the nation during their period of captivity.

"I'd like to especially thank our intelligence agency and our forces who have worked together to complete this mission" Davutoğlu said.

He stressed that the issue of the hostages was always on the government's agenda during that 101-day-long captivity of the hostages which began in June, saying 'not a single moment passed' without him thinking about them. He aslo dismissed the allegations that Turkey was in secret cooperation with ISIS in his speech.

"Turkey will continue to permit entry of people in Turkey fleeing ISIS, regardless of their ethnicity, religion and language" Davutoğlu said concluding his speech.

46 Turkish citizens - diplomats, consular officials and their families - and 3 Iraqi citizens working for the consulate were kidnapped from the Mosul consulate on June 11, a day after ISIS took control of Iraq's second-largest city.

Davutoğlu earlier on Saturday told Turkish reporters during a visit to Baku, Azerbaijan that the hostages were released and had arrived in Turkey. He cut his visit short to meet with the hostages in the province of Şanlıurfa, near Turkey's border with Syria.

Details of how the hostages were brought back to Turkey were later given by Erdoğan in his statement. He said the hostages were released through a pre-planned operation which was conducted diligently and in total secrecy by Turkish Intelligence officers.
