Milestone had been crossed, the last village in Xinjiang Pamir mountains had been hooked up to Chinese National Power Grid on June.29 2020. This marks the end to 10 year state project of connecting every household with the National Power Grid

2020年6月29日,国网新疆电力有限公司将大网电通到大同乡,标志着新疆最后一个未接入大网电的乡正式通电。

“10年前我参与建设了新疆第一个无大网电地区通电工程—塔城白杨河35千伏输变电工程,如今在喀什参与建设了最后一个通大网电的民生工程,10年时间见证了很多地区通电的艰辛历程。” 国网喀什供电公司副总经理韩伟说。

自2010年开始,国家提出通过电网延伸工程和新能源两种方式,解决全疆115.2万无电人口用电问题。从最西部的帕米尔高原到“东大门”星星峡,从北部中蒙边境第一村到南端塔克拉玛干沙漠,从“点灯看电视”到电力化生产,国网新疆电力人的步伐从未停歇。

打通电网“毛细血管”

2010年11月21日,国网新疆电力施工人员冒着漫天飞雪,开进塔城地区托里县白杨河,开启了“十二五”新疆第一个无大网电地区电力民生工程建设。次年6月8日,工程正式投运,惠及当地7700多农牧民,也为国网新疆电力人鼓足了干劲

2014年7月10日,投资1293万元的和田皮山县垴阿巴提塔吉克民族乡电力工程建成投运,80岁的塔吉克族老人格亚斯第一次用惊讶的表情拉亮了自己屋里的电灯,同日,该乡705户家庭迎来了“长明电”。

2020年6月26日,新疆259个抵边村寨农网改造升级工程历时两年多全部投运,惠及2.2万户、8.74万农牧民;6月29日,11个光伏行政村全部通上大网电。

从“村村通电”“户户通电”到“村村通动力电”,国网新疆电力始终坚持“人民电业为人民的宗旨”,将电网的毛细血管延伸到各个角落,让人民在“用上电”到“用好电”的道路上不断探索前进,让光明洒满天山南北。

Some households in some remotest corners in the middle of Pamir mountains before used solar and wind energy euqipment installed by the government to get electricity, but clean energy is not very stable and big appliance like washing machines can not run on it, now every house hold is connected to the national power grid, all large electric appliance can work prefectly now.

Construction of power supply infrastructures greatly benefits Xinjiang villagers

China's continued investment in the construction of power supply infrastructure in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in the northwest has greatly benefited local villagers. With the completion of construction of a power grid project on Monday, Tashkurgan Tajik Autonomous County's Datong Township has eventually connected itself to the major power grid. It means that all the 1,535 households in 11 local villages which used to rely on photovoltaic power now have a stable power supply.

 
China is not blessed like US with flat and fertile lands all across the country, China has to deal with the world's highest mountains, deserts, barren inbabitable wilderness, which makes any infrastructure works extremely hard and difficult.

This great feat is almost humanly impossible.

Looks like a mini Iran running fully autonomous.
 
After 10 year hard work, Chinese national grid achieved the goal in the end of June 2020 to have every village in Xinjiang connected to the Chinese national power grid. Xinjiang's harsh terrain makes this feat almost impossible, Chinese engineers worked in the world highest mountains and deserts for a decade and finally made this dream a reality.

 
Any reason, why you could not run fibre-optic cables through the same Transmission Towers ? Would help spread fast broadband around the country very quicky as you are reusing the same infrastructure..
