Hmm, let's see. Perhaps a few thought experiments may help with the simple concept of remaining neutral in the face of evil.

Doing nothing, as they say, can be the biggest act.

These simple thought experiments represent what we teach kids and how moral character is generally judged. These thought experiments assume that one has the power to stop whatever is happening. Let's begin:

1) You see a child being molested by a known rapist. You stay neutral. How does this reflect on you?

2) You see an old, frail woman being robbed by a known thief. You have the power to stop it. You watch and remain neutral. How does this reflect on you?

3) You see your own mother get attacked by thugs. You watch, even though you have the power to destroy the thugs, and stay neutral. How does this reflect on you?

Is Pakistan not our shared mother? Is this not our motherland? Does Pakistan's interest not deserve to be protected at all costs? Has it not allowed us to be born in a non-Hindutva nation? Does it not require the ACTIVE blocking, stopping, defeating of blatant evil?

What would you do? What should one do? Maybe I have just been raised differently, but I was told that one must stop any injustice that one has the power to stop --- and even try to stop those that you don't have the power to stop!

Thats why people are protesting peacefully to convince our fellow brothers and sisters (of our common mother, Pakistan) to do the right thing. In the month of Ramadan, Pakistan was born, and Inshallah it will be renewed in this month of Ramadan as well.

No one benefits from breaking up of the family in the long run. We are hoping the elders see sense.

Best said in the Quran in surah Naas.
The whole subject is about whispers of shaitan and your nafs.
By staying neutral and doing nothing will definitely be your failing. You are in constant fight against evil and your nafs.
Man was not meant to stay neutral in the face of injustice.

Elders are the problem my brother.

Hmm
You saw corruption going up but you chose to defend PTI

You saw people slipping into absolute poverty instead you blamed previous government for that.

You saw sexual scandals popping up left and right and continued to act like nothing happened.

You saw fake cases and ministers reciting kalma saying this is true only to find out that there was nothing of the sort and yet you did nothing.

You saw parents killed right in front of their kids while they await justice by your leader only passed homeopathic statements and did nothing to punish the culprits.

You saw an innocent young man getting killed on suspicion in Kasur on child porno scandal and did nothing.

What exactly is state to you? If the common people are not state then hell with the idea of the state.

Is it because there are rapists, murderers, corrupts in Pakistan, you will stop to defend your country ?

Both of your points are interesting .

I’m not expert nor mature enough so I could be wrong.

Not at all. But at least be objective instead of being a partisan. PPP walas cant see anything wrong with Zardari/Bilawal, PMLN does the same with NS, MQM with Altaf hussain and PTI with Imran khan. So where do we draw the line?

Don't forget those who can't see anything wrong with generals.

I’ll quote Faiz again “Shehr e Jana mein Ba safa kaun hai?”

Who is the criminal? Who is the victim? And what lens is the one deciding it and passing judgements for everyone?

Historically, given the circumstances that led to it the Prophet’s(ﷺ) wife was accused of (astaghfirulluah!) infidelity as well but he let the process play out instead of stepping in.

No arrests were made nor did people stop believing in Islam or accuse all of the Mothers of the faithful.

The line could only be drawn between what we have, and not between what we have and what we haven’t, between what we have already tried and what we haven’t tried yet, between status quo and something moving painfully slowly but surely in the right direction, between what we have to prioritize… etc.

I’m not blind supporter But I know that even if there is a red line between Right and Wrong, and I know also we have a rotten System, and fixing it can’t be done overnight. It requires Time. Lot of Time.

I could be wrong of course in my humble opinion.

Pakistan needs a strict and harsh sincere leader who hangs few politiciams, bureaucrats and generals and make example out of them. We also need to stop sending our cadets and officers to US and west for training and courses. We all know they are assessed and mostly bought then. There also needs to be a law to stop offspring of generals, bureaucrats and politicians to go abroad for business. We need an independence movement once again because we were never truly independent. We removed white trash but now need to remove their chamchas and slaves from military, bureaucracy and politics.

Journalists covering F9 jalsa said that people there were not chanting against the imported govt. they were chanting against the neutral folks. Will fauj counter this anti-army sentiment via Vigos? The decades it took for the army to build up its relation with Pak army went down the drain in an hour.

I took Pak COAS/ISPR as the ultimate truth too. I am ashamed of myself more than I am ashamed by this fauj.

I think those that are pushing for a balanced view of the situation are being disingenuous. You cannot compare the previous govts to this one - world of difference. We disagree with PTI on a lot of things - I personally disagree with everything from the populist narrative, dharnas, to some economic policies of Tareen - but can you really compare the band of thugs of the purana Pakistan? No!

Let me give one example. When PML-N left the govt last time around, the CA was ballooning and going in one direction only. PTI had the same thing happen in end of 2021. They saw the problem, and took actions, the first couple of months of 2022, the current account was okay. Another example, the dollar spiked because of this recent uncertainty- SBP intervened and raised rates, rupee gained strength. Is this what PML-N did? No, they burned through precious reserves. Another example, look at dams being built in this country.

You see, I think when we get down to it, we can and PTIans like myself admit that there were mistakes. But to compare this govt to PML-N or PpP is just ridiculous. Which is why neutrality also doesn’t make any sense. In fact, it looks like a farce.
