Mardan university student killed over alleged blasphemy: police

If people like Bhensa had been apprehended and punished as per law, this wouldn't have happened. When the govt fails to implement the law and establish its writ, people are forced to take law in their hands. In case of MQ, the forcee of status quo were quick to respond because one of them got killed by from a common man but when it came to Bhensa and other blasphemous pages govt mysteriously stay silent, not even a single statement condemning the act was issued by any minister who are busy defending NS's corruption 24x7.
The right way would have to report the police and the concerned people authorities against the blasphemers but again people have lost faith in the system due to continuous exploitation and visible bias by the govt.
Absolutely, if swines like Goraya were actually punished folk would have had more confidence in the law, they may not have opted to carry out such barbaric behaviour as it is the job of the law to investigate and impart punishment if the accused is indeed guilty.Kudos

Ali (May Allah be pleased with him), said a state can exist if it is infidel but not if it is unjust. The lawlessness has gone too far. Was it a right approach by students, of course not...it is against the law of the land, it is against even the shariah since there is a well defined procedure on how to proceed on such case and it is up to scholars / judges with knowledge of islamic jurisprudence to decide whether the person has committed blasphemy or not? and then there are steps to be followed. This kind of mob mentality is really bad for the society and the image of the country. But who is responsible for letting the situation aggravate to this point? Mind that these were not "religious" people but normal university students that has strong support for ANP. And this kind of incidents are limited to blasphemy but mobs have lynched robbers, thieves, mobile snatchers and other petty criminals due to the lack of security and protection from the state against such crimes. I hope when the culprits of this crime get punished, the court also hangs the people who did not act against Bhensa and other blasphemers. It is really sad to see that these goons of PMLn have worsened the society and this dastardly incident must be investigated thoroughly to arrive at a decision that improves the society.

Till this day i am not aware of what actually transpired behind the scenes in regards to the Bhensa swines, who released Goraya and co??? surely those folks who released Goraya should be made accountable to the public, until society is not seen to have been given justice these anarchists that we once again saw in Mardan will keep on dictating the course of events, something that must not be allowed to occur if we wish to remain to be a modern law abiding nation.Kudos

Very simple, just relate different events to get an explanation.
Perhaps you remember the the Axxact scandal and how quickly the govt machinery came into action under the minister of interior Ch. Nisar. It was less than 24-hrs of the publishing of the news, no investigation, no inquiry, only a new item in NYT was enough to bring the down the whole organisation.
But when Bhensa made those social pages for weeks and months nothing happened, and then they themselves vanished all of sudden, resurfaced and then fled the country... Basically was the brainchild of Bubble butt, the objective was to use it as a pretext to ban social media in Pakistan. Since they have bribed and threatened most of the media into compliance but social media seems to be uncontrollable...first they introduced the controversial cyber crime act so as to silence the opposition and then they wanted to take it one step further by banning facebook and twitter following the idiotic precedence of banning youtube in Pakistan for many years.. So basically your Bubble butt and her father are the Bhensa themselve and that explains why nothing was done by the govt against then despite a lot hue and cry from the public.

An interesting explanation indeed, the sooner they are out of power and in jail the better.Kudos sir

I have been avoiding any posts due to the hanky panky going on in the name of Mashal Khan
The randi rona that is going on the forums here by pro-atheist liberals with support from some of the moderators speaks for itself. Most of these so-called 'matami juloos' or 'mourners' using Mashal Khan for point scoring and their own different agendas, rofl even in agenda the liberal jokers are not united, shia liberals are using it to bash sunni deobandi mullas whereas hiding the shia mullahs similar opinion ppl like Atif Tauqeer, Jibran Nasir, etc.., the other are using to bash the state and the whole society likes of Noor e Maryam Kanwer and Marvi Sirmed.

Both groups are vying for foreign attention of islamophobes who can fund them and destroying the very basis of tolerance in universities as well as promoting fear culture amongst muslims that their faith islam which is way of life for most is'nt safe from these groups who have great support. The **** media is already foreign funded and on payroll from states who want to reduce islamic faith influence.

I have studied in an international university, in a university you have students who are naive impractical beings who are religious, agnostic, atheist, devil worshippers, etc... based on their limited practical life experiences and cocoon like environments. Some live in fantasy some wish to change real world into fantasy that is closer to their ideology, universities are such an environment that promote such freedoms. Witnessed some of those 'atheists' changing into more hardcore muslims than even I am based on the changes in their social circle. Unless there is 'tolerance' and 'mutual respect' with no disrespect for anyones beliefs or condescendingly approaching ppl based on their religion, race or any other issue, such an environment is necessary part of university culture.

Agreeing to disagree and tolerance for different views which we take for granted are being destroyed by these foreign funded liberals with no stake in the future of Pakistan as most of them are/will be abroad.

I have seen Mashal Khan fb posts, suggest that he had humanist, socialist leanings, these are nothing compared to the many students in Karachi Uni, LUMS and other prestigious universities. People with more extreme views thhan this have been found sipping tea with a Jamaati [student belonging islamic student union] in local canteens, both trying to convert each other rofl.

The liberal jokers crying, howling, barking is doing damage to these small issues.

With arrest of secular ANP MNA's relative Meyar and others, with Mashal going on tv against University admin., this looks pre-meditated murder, other side lionizing him as an atheist are both creating a dangerous environment where polarization grows and tolerance is done with.

Dr Sahib it's not a small issue, a mind set used religion " Blasphemy " to frame someone fueled public angerness a young man dies two injured and there is no liberal shiberls mantra in it. It's humanity we are taking about and kanjar who use name of Islam to harm peaceful citizens.
Keep your Shia/Liberal churan and sell it in your tv show. Peace

Hehehe the best thing about Pakistanis are we don't need social media trolls to judge situation or make decisions for us.
Those who care about humanity pour water on the fire, not ignite one. Don't know who use islam but who u use/need is pretty much visible. How important it is for u to portray this pre-meditated murder by secular political party people as an islamic inspired issue, one can see.

The pro-atheist vermin and indeed some of the religious fascists who condone "TTP/Khwariji" actions need to let the authorities conduct a thorough and transparent investigation in order too determine if indeed Mr Mashal Khan did or did not commit any acts of blasphemy, as of now neither I nor anyone else on the forum can say one way or another and if hypothetically speaking Mashal did say things which were unacceptable an FIR should have been immediately registered against him and the appropriate authorities should have handled the case, many will disagree with my stance as they will cite the Bhensa case were that filthy swine Goraya got away with blue murder yet I will argue the law is the last line of defence we have against complete anarchy , it may not be perfect but we have to strive to make it better by electing more sincere politicians who can and will make a difference, if we keep on electing pathetic folk like NS who is bereft of knowledge and common sense then this will be the result most unfortunately.
NB:
In regards to the environment at universities, critical thinking should be encouraged where students can rationally and philosophically debate ideas yet debating should not descend into any offensive behavior where the deen of Al Islam is insulted/ridiculed, that in an Islamic republic is unacceptable, if folk do not like this, they are welcome to emigrate to Trumps USA and experience the so-called tolerance they have over their, where ones dress sense and skin pigmentation can prevent one from getting decent employment..................boarding a plane.Kudos Sir

But we have already established that Islam itself encourages equality and justice for everyone, including minorities. So if we were to actually apply Islamic principles, there would be no 'forceful imposing'.

Why shouldn't it dictate our way of life? As long as its not forced on anyone, which it shouldn't be as per the Quran:
"There shall be no compulsion in the religion." [Al Baqarah 2:256]
And what if for example some people want to drink but others don't?What if some people are ok earning interests on their bank deposits but others are not ok?If islam becomes a state religion then please tell me how it,s not imposing forcefully on those who don,t see social drinking or earning interest from islamic point of view?
If you are officially declaring a state religion it,s only favoring the religious lot but if you are not it,s favoring everyone since secularism don,t dictate people,s life styles.
@haviZsultan Do you agree with me ?

No evidence that Mardan university students committed blasphemy: IG KP

IG KPK Salahuddin Khan Mehsud ─ DawnNews
Inspector General Police (IGP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Salahuddin Khan Mehsud on Monday while addressing a press conference said an initial investigation into the lynching of Mardan university students last week revealed there was nothing concrete to suggest that any of the three accused had committed blasphemy.

"There is nothing concrete to suggest that Mashal, Abdullah, or Zubair had committed blasphemy, according to the investigation," Mehsud said.

Abdullah has denied all accusations against himself and the two others accused of blasphemy, the IG said.

Last week 23-year-old Mashal Khan was killed, and another seriously injured, by a vigilante mob for allegedly publishing blasphemous content online.

The KP police chief said, 59 suspects have been arrested, out of which six are university officials.

Police had registered a first investigation report (FIR) against 20 suspects, of which 16 have been arrested so far.

The IG stated that during the investigation 11 more suspects were identified, of which six have been arrested.

"This university has been problematic in the past, and our police officers frequently come and go on campus," he said. "There is a disciplinary problem with the students at the university."

The investigating officers did not find anything implicating the victims prior to the murder, but after the lynching, "lots of activity started to occur on social media," the IG KP said, adding that police sought the Federal Investigation Agency's (FIA) help investigating content on social media.

Even unproven blasphemy allegations can be fatal. At least 65 people, including lawyers, judges and activists, have been murdered by vigilantes over blasphemy allegations since 1990, according to a recent think tank report.
