What's new

LCA MK2 a disaster waiting to happen!

I repeat LCA mkii will fullfill its potential to be a top class point defence fighter.

How many LCA could Hal produce per year? The most funny point is LCA will be dilapidated before induction.

8-12-16 per yearly for first 3 years

Typical IAF ex-Chief Bull$hit.

Instead of focusing on his area of expertise and telling us how IAF can help in the development of Mk-II, he is offering condescending advice to ADA how to build an aircraft.

Everybody wants to offer 'expert opinions' and pretend to be experts. The only people who are not considered experts are people who are actually designing and building the aircraft.

He would have had a lot more credibility if he had applied his mind and had informed us what role IAF can play in the program. Instead he has applied his ego and has become a self proclaimed expert. God save us from such experts. All talk and no walk.

So the answer to him is, No, nobody is listening (to you).
so true ! IAF chief .. ex or present must be the last person to know anything about a flying Aircarft. the most eminent person to say anything about it must be the dedicated persons form HAL and ADA who are making a plane since 80s and not yet completed it. after the LORD ....HAL is the only entity fully beyond and above the realms of time and deadlines !

Relax dude! Do you even know who the author of this article, late Air Cmde. Parvez Khokhar was? He was the Project Director and Chief test pilot of the Tejas for almost a decade. He was also a technical advisor and consultant for SAAB, Boeing and Trisonic Aerospace. He was an 'A' category flying instructor and an experimental test pilot of repute. He was also member, Society of Experimental Test Pilots, Lancaster, USA.

He has flown over 72 different aircraft from Eurofighters to F-16s to Rafales and every single fighter aircraft in the IAF inventory.

He was my friend and coursemate from NDA. A top notch fighter pilot who was also an air attache in Pakistan and half a dozen other countries. He even flew with the Iraqi air force during the Iran-Iraq war.

So don't lambaste him as he knows WTF he's talking about. And by the way, he also mentioned in our conversations that the Rafale is undoubtedly the best and most technically advanced aircraft he has ever flown. (Except the F-22 and F-35, which he didn't have the opportunity to fly).

I think Tejas is slipping off its deadline

The mk 2 version
1.Tejas is on time all this news are created by paid media which in financed by foriegn aircraft manufacturrers to pressurise MOD

2. before tejas MK2 the 1.5 version is already in testing (better cockpit & AESA based Radar EW suit with some new sensors for better battle field situational awareness ) :)

"He even flew with the Iraqi air force during the Iran-Iraq war." Please elaborate are you saying IAF was involved in that conflict ?

Nope! The IAF wasn't involved. He flew with the Iraqi Air Force. He was a flying instructor there too.

If someone intelligent was in charged of the MOD , then Rafale and Typhoon would never have been invited for the contract. Since our financial situation should have been taken into account

IAF should have known that their is a difference between what you want vs what you need.
They should have known in the beginning that, Jaguars and Mig27s too need to be retired, their role can't be replaced by Tejas.
Hence they are now demanding 80 Rafale type aircrafts.
The only aircraft which comes near the capability of Rafale in terms of ground attack is The Super Hornet.

In my opinion, its critical for national security, that we have an aircraft that is more capable than the Su30MKI,
In my opinion, we should order 80 F/A18 super hornets from USA. They will not cost more than 10 Billion USD.
Navy should acquire and 30 Mig29Ks for 1.2 Billion USD
They are cheap and we already have infra ready for them, they will also allow us to withdraw 2 Su30MKI sqds which are dedicated for Anti Naval operations.
