K-8 Shoots Down Superior L-15

Mako is yet to makes its maiden flight and it will not be a 15million price tag advance trainer. M-346 is transonic.
As I say, none can compete with L-15 at the moment.

Mako is cancelled. The aircrafts listed most of them are expensive, some production line ended and are obsolete like serbian one. Only L-159 ALCA and L-15 are the cheapest in the world market for dual purpose for country who can't afford.

Plus there is a boatload of competition
Aero L-39 Albatros / Aero L-159 ALCA
AIDC AT-3
BAE Systems Hawk
CASA C-101 Aviojet
Dassault/Dornier Alpha Jet
KAI T-50 Golden Eagle
Kawasaki T-4
G-4 Super Galeb
IAR 99
PZL I-22 Iryda
MiG-AT
Yak-130

Can you please post a comparison between all of them and a comprehensive review too.

He has no idea what is advanced trainer. All the one he mention does not even match the specification of L-15. L-15 is a trainer in fighter disguised. It has simply too much raw power as a trainer. Almost matching the spec of JF-17 but with the advantage of twin seat.

What are you talking about?
The Aero L-39, T-38 Talon, BAE Hawk, some Dassault jets, and the yak-130 all fall into the "Advanced Trainer" category.

Are you creating a new category...Super Advanced?

Have you even check the spec of L-15 and those trainer you even mention? Advance trainer does not just means avionics being advance. The abilities of the trainer needs to be up a level. Can BAE Hawk go super sonic? No. Can T-38 talon pull 8.5G? No.

L-15 can go supersonic of at least 1.3 mach and pull 8.5G with it advance aerodynamic of lerx that helps to increase the vortex, therefore enable higher aoa compare to those mediocre trainer. Not to mention the powerful twin engines that can give Max thrust of 8400kg of thrust.

A Chinese aircraft manufacturer has produced an attack version of the L-15 jet trainer. Normally, the L-15 just carries a trainee pilot and an instructor. But the attack version has a pilot and a weapons systems officer. The L-15 is a 9.5 ton aircraft with a max speed of 1,000 kilometers an hour and a combat radius of 550 kilometers. Since it first flew four years ago, the L-15 has been offered to the Chinese armed forces and foreign customers, without much success.

The problem is the K-8, which is a smaller, cheaper Chinese jet trainer. The K-8 is a 4.3 ton, two seat aircraft. The trainee and instructor are replaced by a pilot and observer on combat missions. Max speed is 800 kilometers an hour. The K-8 entered service in 1994, and over 500 have been built. The aircraft can be fitted with a 23mm cannon, and carry nearly a ton of missiles and bombs. Egypt and Pakistan also use the K-8. The aircraft sells for $4-5 million each. The L-15 sells for more than twice as much, but carries about the same amount of weapons. The L-15 is touted as a more suitable trainer for pilots headed for high performance (like the Su-30, F-16 or J-10) aircraft. But so far, air forces have found it more economical to buy the K-8.

I am sure if PAC make some changes to its front landing gear to house a Radar then it will be great. More over, PAC should take the project on its own if Chinese are not interested and bring in KSA, UAE, Jordan, Oman and Yemen(through KSA & UAE) to join in the project in order to make a Block-II version of it which has the following features:
Composite Airframe
DSI and other improvement along with JF-17 like landing Gears.
Better Avionics with FLIR, Radar and integrated IRST like UAVs.
Improved EU origin engine being locally manufacture and assemble.
Internal cannon 23/25mm with 3000 rounds
In Flight refuelling capability

Advanced training
Those that progress to training for fast jet flying will then progress to an advanced trainer, typically capable of high subsonic speeds, high-energy manoeuvers, and equipped with systems that simulate modern weapons and surveillance.[4] Examples of such jet trainer aircraft include the supersonic T-38 Talon, theBAE Hawk, the Dassault/Dornier Alpha Jet, the Aero L-39 and the Yakovlev Yak-130.

Effective combat aircraft are a function now of electronics as much as if not more so than the aerobatic ability or speed of an aircraft. It is at this stage that a pilot begins to learn to operate radar systems and electronics. Modern advanced trainers feature programmable multi-function displays which can be programmed to simulate different electronic systems and scenarios. Most advanced trainers do not have radar systems of their own, but onboard systems can be programmed to simulate radar contacts. Withdatalinks and GPS virtual radar systems can be created with similarly equipped aircraft relaying to each other their positions in real time and onboard computers creating a "Radar display" based on this information.[5] The aim of programmable displays is to speed pilot training by replicating as far as possible the systems a pilot will find in an operational aircraft.

First of all, none of yes mention trainer can go supersonic except T-38 which is basically a modify F-5 freedom fighter which cannot pull very high G. The link u mention is lying, BAE Hawk cannot go supersonic , same as L-39 and yak-130. U shall do more research before just posting random link .The reason why western countries do not need a superior trainer like L-15 is becos they are rich enough to afford team seated fighter for their air fleet twin seat F-16 or su-27UBK. And not becos the physical aerodynamic training is not needed.

L-15 is trying to be the jack of all trade. Of cos, there is trade off but it is ideal for budget air force who is limited in budget. They do not need an very advance fighter to counter euro typhoon or F-22. Something decent to protect the aerial.
