Avionics Suite

jf-17-4.jpg
The avionics suite makes the JF-17 an effective weapon platform. The glass cockpit and hands on throttle and stick (HOTAS) controls reduce pilot workload. Accurate navigation and weapon aiming information on the head up display help the pilot achieve his mission effectively. The multifunction displays provide information on engine, fuel, hydraulics, electrical, flight control and environmental control system on a need-to-know basis along with basic flight and tactical information. The capability has been built around highly modern state-of-the-art avionics equipment. The salient avionics equipment is as follows:

  • Dual redundant mission computers
  • Dual redundant 1553 Mux bus architecture
  • Multi-mode Pulse Doppler Radar capable of tracking multiple targets with prioritized firing
  • Ring laser gyro inertial navigation system tied with GPS
  • Smart head up display with up front control panel. SHUD total field of view is 25 Degrees
  • Color video recording camera and video recorder (for SMFCDs)
  • HOTAS
  • Three smart multi function color displays
  • Air Data Computer
  • Radar Altimeter
  • IFF Interrogator/Transponder
  • Air Combat Manoeuvring Instrumentation (ACMI)
  • BVR/Communication Data link
  • hVHF / UHF Communication System
Weapons Capability
The aircraft is fitted with modern Stores Management System incorporating accurate weapon delivery modes and solutions involving minimum pilot workload. The aircraft is capable of carrying some of the most modern as well as conventional weapons, including:
  • 70-100 Km range beyond visual range active missiles
  • Highly agile Imaging infrared short range missiles
  • Air to sea missiles
  • Anti radiation missiles
  • Laser guided weapons
  • Runway penetration bombs
  • General purpose bombs
  • Training bombs
  • 23 mm double barrel gun

With so much Iranian influence i do,nt think West will sell their hardware to Iraq, chances of falling into Russia,Sino hands.

Lol.....the " Iranian influence" on who? On this post? The Iranians are on the brink of getting attacked if they don't fulfill their commitments on nuclear stuff. They have no influence outside of Russian and may be China. Neither one impacts Iraq's weapons purchasing situation....

what is your source of info sir ?

I won't believe in that...Because Iraqi's are already flying F-16 Block 52+ in US...so USA has not refused to give them F-16..

Right....engine cooling problem getting fixed, along with wiring changes. a local engine accommodation along with room for AESA in the new airframe means its a substitute for the Iraqi F-16's??? Where do you "learn" such idiotic news?

Anyone who chooses an advanced variant of the F-16, can't go for the JFT. The Iraqi's would've to get Rafale or Typhoons to compensate for the F-16's advanced block 52!

After losing several type of US equipment to ISIS, i don't think US is fool to gave them F-16.

Well if it was up to me I wouldn't go for any western fighters period.

What was dead Iranian General doing in Iraq? I bet he´s not alone there!

Ok.....how does that buildup a case for the JFT? And what does the JFT has to do with a dead Iranian general....? Let's not go off with thin air. Focus on topic would be much appreciated

You forgot to add one more line: The US won't send dog specialist to potty train Iraqi generals dogs either, which can really sniff Al-Qaeda's terrorists from distant

Could we please stick to the thread and provide facts about the topic on hand???

What do you think what making the American delaying the delivery of the f-16?.

The weapon systems aren't safe. There is a lot of corruption, just like Afghanistan, all American equipment is ready to be sold for little money after its provided. Plus, ISIS is all over Iraq and the Iraqi's seem to have no control over this situation. So until all of this is taken care of, I don't think the US will be willing to provide higher end sensitive tech.

The thing covered in red on Thunder 120 looks like the inflight refueling probe. Mounting is very different from the first IFR pictures released before where the probe was connected from just behind the canopy.

It's a Mirage at the far end with IFR probe with an F-7 near the camera in above shot.
