JF-17 comparison with Mirage F1

IMO....they are comparable. No matter how much we like to disagree.
No fly by wire.
Same weapon load and BVR capability.(8000 lbs)
Same engine performance. 18K lbs to 16K lbs.

Pak was looking for an interceptor to replace the F-7's and JF-17 fits.
I am sure Mirage F-1 will also perform in that role for Morocco.

But how will JF-17 compare when it goes head to head against SU30's or Mig29........ I'd say ..lets plan an exercise with Malaysia.

But its still tooo early...dont even have a squadron yet.

you are completely worng, first of all JF17 incorporates fly by wire in pitch axis and it is also being claimed that FBW will be included for roll axis also,
it includes HMS,
a high tech modren HUD
a more advanced flight ccontrol computer
can be data linked to AWACS
a zero-zero ejection seat
BM/KG300G self protection jamming (ECM) pod
KZ900 electronic reconnaissance (SIGINT) pod

i dont understand what made you pass such a statement!

yes it helps to initially catch eye but customer surely want to throughly evaluate the system!
pkaistan must increase its efforts to market JF17, make vedios join exercises and air shows and let the world see our bird!
though PAC is devoted to fullfil the need of pakistan first but we may be able to expand the facility by investing more once we get sure that JF17 will be bringing us revenue!

what do you say? if we wait for our 250 planes to be deleivered and then look for export it may wwell be a bit late. i think we must start marketing as soon as our first squadron we must intensify the efforts to export this bird and once we get order the facailty at PAC may be expanded!

Thing is...we cannot market a plane we cannot supply since our own needs are so much.

We can save the money we will get by exporting but increasing our share in the manufacturing of our own jets...250 is a HUUUUUUUUGE number to deliver in about 5-6 years for us. We will probably need to buy some of our own from China, how can we start marketing it?

As for China, well they do not usually enter tenders in competitions. Their way of business is govt. to govt. understanding followed by sales. It will all depend on your "sphere of influence". Countries that will buy the JF-17 are pretty unlikely to have an indian or Brazilian type of competition for fighter jets. The best public advertising you will see is invitation of foreign delegates to Zuhai Show (or similar one) and briefing to "foreign delegates".

very true, we dont mean to say that export these birds just after the first squadron is ready!
i only suggested that we must start marketting and advertising it! there are not many air shouws or exercises every weekend so we better take the opportunity of every single show to promote this plane!

and if we get some orders we will be assured that we can earn some money from the project and thus we can take the risk of investing more to expand the manufacturing facility gradually! at the point we can not afford to invest more on JF17 neither in terms of technology nor for increased production facility, a fw confirmed orders and we will be in a better position to take our chances!

what do you think of this!

regards!
