Lmao.. This is iconic but you gotta respect Raisi for this boss move
Amanpur must feel much accomplished and free now.
by refusing to put the scarf on which would've hindered her abilities to conduct a good interview and would've come in her ways of being a great journalist of a mainstream top tier news network.

Western feminism 10000 headscarf 0

secondary questions and comments
who requested the interview?
was scarf request communicated to CNN?
is respecting customs of others considered lack of freedom?

finally for all its worth.
Raisi was in his right to walk off from the interview
if the CNN/ Amanpur set the tone right off the bat by disregarding his request then it was just going to be a shouting match
and his sentences would've been clipped off and used for further propaganda.

It was a wise move by CNN actually.

Due to the ongoing protests in Iran against compulsory hijab, CNN would've come under tremendous pressure from Iranians and Americans (particularly the Iranian-American community) if she had accepted to wear a headscarf. The disadvantages of accepting to wear a hijab at this moment clearly outweighed its advantages for her career and the CNN.

Raeesi also made the right call obviously.

Because of the religious rank who was going to sit against her.
are you serious , there is no law in new york to ask her to do so , when she come to iran , she wear it . also it has nothing to do with religios rank
you can't go to somebody country and tell him/her what to wear and what to do , when they come to iran you can do so
by the way he is not a Marjaa so his study in Houza don't entitle him to much, he can say i don't interview with somebody ,but he cant demand him/her do anything in their country and he is not entitled to they wear anything he like

بعدش حجاب زاخارووا بهتر بود یا حجاب امانپور

the interview couldve been postponed instead of the drama
but I see your point,. CNN action via Amanpur has shown its support to the protests.
whatever the original agenda was , given the current sudden turn of events and how West is using it against the Ayatlloah regime the Iranian President wouldve had a tough time. unless it was Jawad Zerif (love him or hate him he steals the show).

She is a reporter, she should have done her job instead of losing the interview and infusing her own beliefs into the matter

If anything Iranian pres must be smiling it was that easy
I agree to that point too. she could ve done better than an average viewer commentator of forum and youtube.
putting on the scarf she had the chance to put on the spot.
but on other hand as suggested by other posters . sticking to its side in support of scarf victim/ protestors CNN expressed its solidarity. for brownie points.

It is premature to say she is murdered because of scarf, the CCTV evidence doesnt suggest it, but thorough investigation by independent organization needs to be done
All investigation so far point to no injury. f@ckers just want an excuse for their own agenda.

In fact, they were and still are criticizing the government for allowing Russian official with low hijab in Iran, they say you have sold Iran to Russia, but when it comes to this girl, they suddenly change color and talk against dress code.

Anyway cnn audience is not right for Iran president, on the other hand if fox channel approached him on his place i would conduct interview no matter what.
